Dr. TANSTAAFL ,

Version 1.5.9 won’t let me set zones UPDATE

Version 1.5.10 update has made things worse for my D9. NOW it runs for a few minutes and STOPS in the middle of the floor with the motor running until it has to recharge. Then it asks me to put it back on its base because it can’t find it.

In the previous version of this app I could set and keep multiple zones for my home. NOW with the new update I get an error message saying I have invalid zones that extend out side of blue areas on my map. 1. The walls on the map the vacuum generated are not square and it’s impossible to set a zone to clean the entire room. There are long triangular strips and tabs that extend beyond the zone square unless you extend the zone beyond the edges of the rest of the map. 2. Even if I set a very small zone totally within the map area (a 10 foot square in the center of my living-room) I get the error message for an invalid map that extends beyond the map edges! This means any time I run the vacuum I have to clean the entire house. I can no longer select a single room. This is an utter failure. Also, you’ve been promising the ability to save multiple maps (like “upstairs” and “downstairs”) for YEARS! When do we get that feature?

Complete downgrade

To start with I bought a new D10 model for an upgrade from a D7 - hoping the new app and support would help with the end of life problems in the D7 - since Neato killed it with an update that made it no longer sync with networks and drop support of the app. Now for the new D10; it’s software is not as intelligent as previous models and is constantly trying to go through objects it’s sensors have triggered on (it will back up and try ramming) in the past the sensors would trigger the neato to pathfinder around the object as we all expect it should. Now to the app functionality it’s very low compared to its predecessor. No direct way to save a map or trigger the mapping mode and the mappings are down graded from previous models (not as precise and very little processing to smooth or make it accurate). With robot mappings not adjusted or fixed for errors it seems no improvement have been made and to I have yet to figure out how to get a map to save to enable the no go lines.

Over all extremely disappointed with this company- used to make a quality product with the best mapping tech out there and now seems over priced and outdated.
I regret my purchase.

Awful

The experience of this app is awful. It would take less time to type out the things it does right.

So many features were removed from the previous app. You can no longer make no go zones a simple line or multiple connected lines. It has to be a box. This box cannot be rotated in any way. They removed Siri Shortcuts. Notifications are no longer consistent. Sometimes I get them, some times not. Usually it’s just yelling error codes into the ether. Who asked for their vacuum to yell error codes?

And after the last update I can no longer load my floor plan. While that’s been an issue for awhile, if I closed the app enough times it would eventually load. Today that is no longer an option. The floor plan will just not load. Running the vacuum on schedule just runs it like it doesn’t know the floor plan, so it just gets stuck everywhere. So essentially they removed the robot working. Unless it’s an empty room.
