Description

Built by an avid museum-goer, Museumistic.app is a tool for those wanting to learn about art and culture. Using artworks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the app offers the following features for both visitors and art enthusiasts:

Visiting:
- Events: A list of tours and events offered at the museum.
- Gallery List: Allows you to filter galleries and sort by distance closest to you.
- Gallery View: Displays the artworks in a given gallery, offers a real-time map showing your proximity to the gallery, and includes a pointer to guide you there.
- Itineraries: Different ways to experience the museum...
1) Curated: A list of highlights or grouped items by selected curators.
2) Randomized Art Hunt: A scavenger hunt where an artwork is selected at random for you to find.
3) AI Itinerary: Provide your interests and available time, and see what the AI suggests.

Search: Enter an artist's name or a gallery number to see the following results…
- Artworks created by the chosen artist or hanging in the selected gallery.
- Artist: Wiki data on the artist.
- Peers: A list of other artists working during the same period as the selected artist.
- Era: Use AI to ask questions about the culture, politics, relationships, or world events at the time of the artwork's creation.

Learn:
- Quiz: An artwork is chosen from the collection, and you must guess the artist from four options.
- Timeline: Select a period from 1500 to the present to see the artists creating during that time. You can also ask AI about that period and view the artists' wiki pages.

So cool!

Indispensable if you’re visiting the Met. But even if you’re thousands of miles away, it’s still great fun to browse the collections and learn about the art and artists.
