Description
The most accurate meteor activity forecast
• Major events calendar
• Upcoming nights predictions
• Hour-by-hour estimates
• Meteor showers reference
Meteor activity varies greatly from one night to another. Most of the time you can expect to see 3-15 meteors per hour, but several times per year this number could rise to 90, or even more! The MeteorActive app uses the latest scientific findings and cutting edge technology to calculate how many meteors you can see at given time. It takes into account your geographical location, meteoroid stream orbits, moon interference and light pollution to find the most spectacular events for you. Clear skies!

Ratings and Reviews
Awesome App
Really love this app, not sure why it’s not used by skywatchers a bit more... especially meteor junkies like myself. I love having instant access to all major shower forecasts, as well as some numbers and info on the Apex/Antihelion sources as well. The only upgrade it could maybe use is, giving the coordinates of the radiant for each major shower at a specific time... I have no problem looking up where it’s at and then finding it with other apps such as SkyView or StarWalk... but it would certainly bring this apps status from great, to perfect if it could show you where to look (it may already, I might just be missing this quirk, if anyone knows anything about this let me know please). Nonetheless, great stuff Meteor Active! I really enjoy this little app... keep it up.
Everything I’ve Ever Wanted!☄️
This app is awesome! Exactly what I’ve been needing/wanting. How did I not find it sooner?? And how come more people don’t use it?! I’ve already shared it with some friends… This is now one of my favorite apps, and I’ve been using it daily since there are major showers happening. The only thing that would make this app perfect would be alerts/notifications -that you can customize of course- for upcoming meteor events. Otherwise, keep up the good work! Happy meteor hunting! ☄️☄️✨
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your great review! The notifications for major events are added in version 2.0
Does what it’s designed for
I enjoy using this app. It’s straightforward and to the point. I’m supposed to have meteor shower functionality in another app that I paid for, but it’s so complex to use there’s no way to tell how to even get to it and now they want a subscription on top of it! I really do like one app that does its thing well vs a jack of all trades app.
A few things I would recommend to be added/fixed/improved:
1. The notifications don’t work. I’ve never received anything about an upcoming meteor shower.
2. It would be great if there was a widget for this. I can see the app being used so much more when actively seeing what’s coming up. (To me, this would be a big improvement.)
3. A way to find what the appropriate light pollution scale is for where I’m located. That way the app could auto update the correct scale of what to expect.
Otherwise, I love it and continue to use it. Thanks for making it!
