Description

Widescreen, controller friendly

Long ago, a great Dragonmaster named Dyne, with the aid of his faithful companions, defended the goddess Althena from a terrible evil. Time has passed, and those great adventurers have become the stuff of legend, but the world of Lunar is now threatened by a shadowy figure known as the Magic Emperor. In a humble village, far removed from the turmoil, lives a young man named Alex. Idolizing the legendary Dyne, Alex dreams of one day becoming a renowned Dragonmaster and matching the achievements of his lifelong hero. Encouraged by his childhood friend Ramus, Alex sets out with his companion Nall and his adopted sister Luna on a seemingly trivial quest, unaware that it would prove to be the first step in an epic adventure whose outcome will determine the fate of the entire world.

Following the critically-acclaimed iOS port of the Japanese roleplaying game Vay, SoMoGa has returned to bring you Lunar: Silver Star Story, now with numerous enhancements for iOS! A traditional, turn-based Japanese RPG, this port offers:

On iPhone 7 Plus. Excellent game, excellent port. I had never played the original, but I really like this so far. Fair amount of replay value, definitley lots to do here! I am mostly through my first play through, and I might try another run so that I can get some cool items I missed. turnbased combat that isnt stat-roll, items and levelling, classic jrpg from my limited experience.

Devs: Alex has reached Level 50 but I didnt get an achievement. Maybe the whole party has to get there. Control pad controls are a tad clunky at times, nothing game ruining. Might be an improvement to be able to push villagers that are in motion, or when the player walks into a wall for motion to stop, rather than continue in an open direction. There have been a few occasions where i would go to purchase or talk to an NPC and my character would go left or right as i had held the up direction too long, but did not stop motion as expected. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks for this awesome game!

Lunar

This is my all time favorite rpg and glad to see it here. Everything so far is great, I love the fact I can pause the game at any moment and resume again, And is like the ps1 version. — Negatives -Nash’s lightning is black instead of yellow -I can glaringly tell differences in voice acting I personally dislike it but there is nothing you can do. -Some items are renamed like “healing nuts” are now “healing fruit”, some dialogue is different from original. It takes away from the experience just makes you stop and think why. -The game is super easy, I’m clearing out entire dungeons without much damage. It’s not very challenging as I remember on the ps1. The first boss used to be very difficult I had to grind a lot to beat, but on this port I beat it first try. It really feels as if the difficulty was nerfed. Harder games are frustrating but give you a sense of achievement and satisfaction after you accomplish your goal, I don’t feel that so far. Other than that game is a must play if you are a fan of Lunar SSS or new to the game.

I would like the developers to add a setting in the options to pause the notification after you defeat a monster or level up, I would like to see the progress you make, it goes by too quickly to notice.

Developer Response ,

Please note that there are currently two difficulty levels in the game's options -- the US PS1 one is similar to the harder difficulty level, not the easier one.

UPDATE: We have increased the delay time on level up in version 3.0.3.

Definitive version of Lunar 1 remake canon

I've played the SEGA CD, PS1, PSP version of Lunar Silver Star, and discounting the SEGA CD version which is equal if only cause of how different it is from every remake, this port (Lunar SSST) is the definitive version of the remake canon. Graphics, FMV, and music are taken from the Saturn and Windows 9x version that were never officially released in the US, and are improved over the PS1 release. Working Designs' iconic PS1 dub is sadly not available due to legal reasons, but there is a mod that restores the WD dub to SSST, though it only works on MacOS. The translation is mostly taken from the WD PS1 version, so the charming dialogue and jokes are mostly intact. There's also an option to use the PSP music (good), the PSP dub (bad), and the Japanese voice actors (good). You can select the Japanese Saturn or English PS1 enemy stats, increase or decrease EXP/silver drops, etc... Did I mention it didn't crash at all? Overall, a must buy for a Lunar fan, especially on a Mac. SoMoGa, I hope you release Lunar 2 at some point.
