The perfect learning app

Finally a flash card app that has all the features and usability I’ve been looking for. The app is very easy to use and feeds you words that you need to know and does not repeat words that are mastered. It is very easy to add new words. Each word has all the attributes you would want such as examples, pronunciation, and pictures. It is also very easy to add new words in groups such as food or body parts. In addition, you can add your own words and your own groups and use example sentences with each new word. One of the best features is that this can operate in a hands-free mode while you’re driving for example. This is finally the app necessary to support you efficient memorization of a large quantity of information such as languages, class work, technical terms, or anatomy.

Well worth the subscription cost

I’ve been using Rosetta Stone and Babbel for a while now to learn French. They are good for understanding the structure of the language. As you try to speak French you quickly realize that your vocabulary is quite limited. This is THE application for filling in that gap. It’s very easy to use and the process of repeating and reviewing the vocabulary is very effective. What I especially enjoyed about this application is that it has a “hands free” feature that you can use while driving/walking/running etc. It’s so very convenient. I started using the free version but quickly purchased a year’s subscription. I highly recommend this app.

Good app, could use improvement

I’ve been using this app as a place to organize my French vocab. I like it overall, but I’ve had a couple issues:

1. I haven’t been able to find reflexive verbs anywhere on the app. I can add them myself, of course, but it seems a bit of an oversight considering how important they can be.

2. I wish there was an easier way to train with (irregular) verb conjugations on this app. I can add them one by one myself, but again it would have been nice if, for example, on a verb flashcard the different conjugations were visible and you could go through them as mini-flashcards.

3. For whatever reason, when I’m typing on this app whenever the phone autocorrects it deletes the space that I typed after the word. And then when the next word is stuck to the previous one it doesn’t autocorrect to put the space there. This can make it incredibly frustrating to make my own flashcards on this app. Most entires are a single word so it’s not a dealbreaker, but it makes the whole process a lot more frustrating than it has to be.

Using the app is still a smooth experience in many respects, and it’s the nicest vocabulary app I’ve been able to find on iOS. It’s basically a paid app, but it’s not too pricey and I’m glad to have discovered it.
