What’s New
Version 214.0
This version brings many bug fixes and improvements to the app to continue bringing the best reader experience possible. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- YouTube embeds are now playable within the article detail view and do not take you out of the app
- While in VoiceOver mode, the cursor will no longer get stuck on scrollbars
- When sharing an asset the URL will be provided instead of the asset name
- Search results will now always show the date posted for an asset
- Vertical videos will be visible in the correct aspect ratio in the embedded video player
Ratings and Reviews
TOO MANY ADS!
I get that you have to run ads in order to make money but there’s a line & you guys have crossed that line & gone all the way to the other side when it comes to how many ads are shown not only on the website/ in the articles but also on the videos. It’s absolutely ridiculous & a nuisance which is why I will not be using it.
KAKE news app is not bad
Been using the app for a few months now, previously on my iPhone 6s, and now on a X(10). The app is clean, not fussy and easy to use. My only complaint is that the navigation is a little non-intuitive. When I click into the weather by area videos, there’s no back button/link to drill back out to the main screen. I figured out to swipe but left or right? Don’t now let’s just try one. I don’t like that, would rather have a definite link to drill in, and a definitive link to go back. Otherwise app is great!
App not refreshed with current articles/news
The news articles and different topic articles have not refresh in four or five days and after submitting a bug report, no response was received and had not been updated. Hard to stay current on things going on if their app isn’t refreshing or updated.
