Notsoaccurate to me ,

STILL issues with intervals

The “intervals” workouts for the ellipticals are not working any more, [amended:] depending on where you launch them from. It used to be only the 14 minute one, now the 7 not the 21 work any more!!!! The dial doesn’t show the target and the graph doesn’t move any more note thanks your level of effort. Without that the app is completely USELESS!!! We first reported the issue with the 14 minutes one at least a year ago, likely more. What is going on?!

After wasting most of my available time for my workout in trying to get it to work (reset this, reset that, delete app, install, etc…) , I discovered that if I launch intervals 7 from one of the other groups it worked. As opposed to launching it from the top group where all free intervals are. Not sure how or why this would make sense… but that is how I got it to work.

Still upsetting, but since there is a work around I wanted to share for others as well.

It’s the little stuff

While I can appreciate the time and effort that has gone into revamping the application, I’m disappointed that little things seem to be missing from the experience. For example, take something as simple as saving preferences. Each time I log into the app and look at the personal recommendations I have to change the duration and difficulty fields. I would prefer to be able to save that as a default. I literally have to click a button that says Save for that session, but have to do that each time I use the app.
I’m also curious what changes were made to the adaptive workout recommendations. Prior to the revamp of the application a number of months ago it seemed like the recommendation was a better fit than the workouts that are now being proposed. This may simply be that I don’t understand how to use the new app fully, but I have yet to see any training videos from Bowflex on how to get the most of the application. Along those lines you have a section titled programs. Are those actually programs? Or are they simply workout videos in a different section of the application? Like others have mentioned, it’s a decent price we pay for the subscription. I’m not sure I’ll renew if little things like preferences and how-to’s aren’t part of the package.

Close to great, but very frustrating

My wife wants classes. I want metrics. This app and bike does both poorly. The instructors give guidance. Spin for x minutes, set resistance to y, good job. It’s the high school history course version of a spin class. No sense of passion. As far as numbers go, they’re all there. You can see average watts. Were you front loaded? Did you bring the heat on the back end? Nobody knows but the bike. This is data that should be easily accessible. The bike is already tracking all of it. Yet you can only see one average number at the end. It graphs calories over the course of the whole ride. Why not speed? Why not power? This is very annoying. The bowflex ic is a great bike. It’s clearly capable of handling the data. They just do a terrible job of formatting and presenting. Get new instructors or tell them to perk up a bit. Let me see my data. Maybe calculate my FTP. Present it on screen. Allow me to select workouts to train in specific zones. Or at least show me what zone I’m in based on my FTP. This bike and app could very easily go from 3 stars to 5 stars. Until then, I’ll be checking out third party competitors who are using the bowflex bike more efficiently than they can. As a long time bowflex user (of all products) this is a disappointment.
