iSmartAlarm Pro 4+

This app was suggested by tech support for the iSmartAlarm app when my camera stopped sending push notifications. Worked fine the first few weeks (except the obvious that I’m having to use 2 apps for 1 security system). They’ve recently “changed the algorithm” that is used to send notifications of movement which essentially means I now get no notifications at all. I also no longer get sound notifications like with the other app. Video clips are still saved which is why I gave it an extra star.

I’ve always wondered if iSmartAlarm was ever going to start offering more cloud recording options, and boy did they nail the head with a hammer with this new app .

Here’s what I loved about the new app :

1. Playback feature - finally a way to view an entire weeks worth of video ! You can even fast forward or rewind an entire days worth or video on a single page .

2. Time lapse ?? There’s an option to have an entire days worth or video into a two minute clip .

3. Price for cloud ? Can anyone actually complain about a weeks worth of video for less than $10 a month ? Try other products and you won’t find anything cheaper -

4. Connection ... now I love iSmartAlarm but the old app was hit or miss whenever I tried to view my cameras, in fact most of the time it would take 10 seconds or more to get a live view . This new app is like 1-2 seconds max ! And reliable each time ! Yes it crashes once , but what app doesn’t ? Unless you’re an engineer or app developer who can design something yourself, I wouldn’t be too picky lol

5. Grouping !!!! Finally I can view all four cameras under one screen !

6. Scheduling !!! I’ve been waiting and waiting for iSmartAlarm to allow scheduling for my cameras! You can use ifttt for the main system but nothing for the cameras ! I forget to arm and disarm on a daily, which is obviously my issue, but now I can leave it up to the app!

This company “ISmartAlarm” opened to rave reviews so I invested money in a full system with sensors and 2 spots 2 Icamera Keep Pros and a motion sensor. System worked great to start but soon app was sluggish. Cameras would fall offline. No new product developed for the last 3 years. Then this new app comes out “pro”. So you would think it would have answered some if not all the concerns. Nope doesn’t hook up to Pro Camera and only recognizes the Spot Camera. Started to think maybe it was a scam for some company to access cameras but it’s just another ISmartAlarm disappointment. Waste of good money and waste of free app. They don’t answer customer calls either by the way. Stay far far away. Too bad seemed great out the box.
