Ratings and Reviews
Very clunky
I love the features and capability of this app when everything works correctly.
When on the PC, Waypoints often disappear from view, the map resets its zoom level at the most inopportune times. The actual Bike screen often takes a very long time to load. The route has stopped displaying for periods of time. The routing algorithms often get confused and route me in circles when navigating city streets or hwy interchanges.
If it weren’t for the ability to setup multiple waypoints, track weather live, and easily route to gas, food, hotels, I’d just use imaps, google or Wayz.
Broke iPad version even worse
Each update takes away something else. This time, I saw a ‘Upgrade to Ride Command +’, menu item pop up then disappear, which explains it.
This version improved the iPhone a little by showing correct dashboard values instead of miles in the millions. The iPad version no longer shows anything. Ride Command on the bike and the Ride Command app were a couple of the selling points that convinced me to get a Roadmaster, but both have been disappointing. Ride Command on the bike is terribly buggy and the app is nearly useless. The developers need to understand that users want to use the app to support their riding by making and managing routes. There aren’t any users impressed by being able to check the odometer, fuel level or tire pressure by phone. I was terribly disappointed to find that the promises of the app with my premium motorcycle amounts to really nothing but a few values from my dashboard. I installed the app after buying the motorcycle—I didn’t get the app, then go get a motorcycle to match it. Forget about retrieving values from the odometer, fuel gauge or TPMS; I won’t check those on the app while I’m riding the motorcycle, and I don’t need to check them while I’m not riding. Instead, put in some decent features: -route creation and management -better waypoint creation -import/export of .gpx -allow landscape orientation on iPad The only reason this app is still on my devices is that I’m hoping a future version will have value.
Great App
Indian has done well upgrading this app! You can now log into Ride Command on your computer, and plot out a route. Then Bluetooth the route directly to the bike! This works very well. Make sure you update the latest firmware on the bike, and add the app to your phone. It works well syncing to your iPhone! Also, add many way points to take the roads you want to ride on, so the navigation software doesn’t vary from your route! I entered several planned routes with many way points and they all take the roads I entered. Thank you Indian for finally getting this right!
