Description

Image Playground, powered by Apple Intelligence, lets you turn descriptions, concepts or people from your photo library into original, fun images in unique styles.

Create Delightful Images
Combine different concepts like people from your photo library, characters, text descriptions and photos to create new images within seconds. Get started quickly by choosing from a range of fine-tuned concepts to add them to your playground. Pick from categories like themes, costumes, accessories and places.

Easy to Use
The Image Playground experience was built from the ground up to be easy to use. Focus on experimenting and making fun images intuitively with suggestions, quick previews, and a history of your previews you can easily revert back to. No need to learn how to build the perfect text description or worry about losing something along the way.

Created with Style
Create images in a set of two distinct styles designed by Apple, and refined through hand-curated artwork. Animation style offers a whimsical, 3D cartoon look with expressive characters and cinematic environments. Illustration style is defined by strong outlines, simple shapes, and bold colors, providing uplifting and playful compositions.

Available Where You Need It
The Image Playground is integrated across apps. Use it in places like Messages when you’re messaging with friends and family, and want to express yourself with a fun and delightful image. And if you use Image Playground, you’ll see suggested concepts based on the context of your messages thread

good intentions and features. just some flaws

So at the start of apple intelligence it kinda sucked. siri was still dumb and the only good thing was writing tools. then they got a chat gtp update. but that also wasnt as great as you had to ask sirir to ask chat gtp. then i had a extremely horrible wait list to get to image playground. im saying this the day i got approval and… meh. i mean i love the genmoji, but its so hard to get it to look how you want. and its also difficult to not make it based on people. as for image playground its pretty good, but it keeps making me a women or just creepy. but other than that sorta good job apple. you get an A for effort

Dumb, Overly Sanitized, Extremely Limited

This is clearly meant to only make profile type pics. All humans are directly front facing and only from the shoulders up. You can use it for other items, I did a few of my cat and a few of some flower photos. All were overtly cartoonish and too cutesy. If the purpose is to let preschoolers make fun pics of themselves as cowboys in front of a mountain with a lighthouse you’re in luck. But if you want interaction between multiple people or even a whole body pic, or want to use parameters like fight, gun, or battle too bad. I tried to create a fight scene between an eel and a tiger and the app didn’t recognize the words. This is basically the cheap toy version of an image generator and not worth your time. I’ve been using it in the beta for roughly two months since became available and if Apple just removed it no one would miss it. In fact it would be a service to their customers because no one would have to be disappointed about the time time wasted trying to use it and learning that it’s just trash. It makes me think Apple created this just so they could tell shareholders about the great new product they made without actually innovating and creating a great new product. Another example of how Apple has lost its way the last few years. But I digress. Go ahead, get the beta and try this out. Maybe you’ll love it. I doubt it.

Wish You Could Refine People

The app works great, and works really well, but I have one complaint. When you select a “base photo” for a person you don’t have the option to refine it. This gets annoying when you try to generate images, but it might not get the eye color, or proper shade of hair right due to the base photo. If you could “refine“ the base photo by telling it what color eyes, and shade of color hair you want it it would save a lot of adjustments that have to be made over and over again every time you create a new image. This would also allow you to have more prompts when creating your final image rather than having to take up a prompt describing the eye color and exact hair color you want. I think if you had the option to refine the base photo for people it would greatly enhance the use of the application.
