Description
The ‘iLIFE-TROODOS Treasure Hunt’ App has been created within the framework of the project ‘Troodos National Forest Park: Promoting natural values and Ecosystem Services’ (LIFE16 GIE/CY/000709), which is co-funded by the LIFE program of the European Union.
The App includes three treasure hunt games, each of which corresponds to a different thematic section: Environmental Route, Cultural Heritage Route and Platania Picnic Site. The first two thematic sections are for adults and the third section for children aged 10-15.
During the game, the players will have the opportunity to familiarize with the natural areas and infrastructures in the area of Troodos National Forest Park and to acquire knowledge on environmental issues and the cultural heritage of the area.

QR code missing
We got together 15 of our friends in Cyprus to do the Cultural Heritage Route treasure hunt. The early October weather was perfect and we all were excited as we took off group by group from the Platania Forest Station. HOWEVER, the hunt came to a sudden end on the third QR code which was at the Prodromos Monastery. Our car was the first to arrive. We searched and searched but couldn’t find the QR code. All the other cars arrived and we all searched. Finally an old woman came out and told us that the QR code had been stolen some time ago. What a disappointment. Even more disappointing that NO WHERE was this information posted. Even worse, no attempt has been made by the authorities to correct this loss. BUT THE WORST part was there was no provision within the app to by pass a site and continue on the journey to see the other sites. I hope the app developer sees this post and corrects this oversight immediately. Cyprus is crying because there are few tourist due to the virus pandemic. Cyprus has posted ads everywhere internationally begging tourists to come. Why should they bother if tourist attractions like iLide Troodos are broken?
