Description

THE app for optimized shopping in the supermarket and for saving cooking recipes - also from the web. NEW: Automatic recipe recognition on selected websites.

iEinkauf is an app for optimised weekly shopping in the supermarket. It is primarily available for iPhone and iPad, but now also for Mac. Before shopping, a plan is created in which recipes from cookbooks, but also individual goods for daily needs are entered. Recipes can be selected not only by name, but also by the ingredients they contain. This results in a digital shopping list that displays the required goods sorted by shelves for shopping. This shopping list can be compared with the stocks, in which individual goods can be deleted or adjusted in their required quantity. When actually shopping in the supermarket, the shopping list can be processed on an iPhone or iPad from the app or via a widget; on a Mac, either a printout of a shopping list or a transfer of the data to the iPhone or iPad is possible. The order of the shelves can be adjusted so that the path through the preferred supermarket can be optimized.
The cookbooks with recipes can be freely created and edited. An integrated internet browser allows imports from web portals with recipes. Cookbooks can be exchanged via e-mail, messages or AirDrop with other iOS devices or Macs on which the app is installed.
An extensive help system explains all operating elements.

What’s New

Version 2.01

1. Synonyms for products and units: Synonyms are alternative names for products or units. If they appear in recipe imports as ingredient names or in a quantity specification, iEinkauf automatically replaces them with the originals. For units, a conversion factor is taken into account, e.g. if "liter" is to be used as a synonym for 1000 "ml".

2. Improvements in recipe import from the Internet:
a) On 6 common German websites with cooking recipes, iEinkauf can automatically recognize the ingredients and cooking instructions. It can be set whether this automatism should take place for the website in question.
b) Fractions in quantities (e.g. ¼) are now evaluated correctly. The recognition of quantities and units has been improved.
c) During import, synonyms can easily be created and then used automatically later. Example: In the internet recipe, "red bell pepper" is called "bell pepper (red)". This is saved as a synonym and in the future iEinkauf will automatically recognize it as a known product. For units, for example, "kg" can be saved as a synonym for "g" - but with a conversion factor of 1000.

3. Improvements in cooking instructions: Character set, text size and text color can now be set, images are saved with only small memory consumption.

4. Improvements when importing recipes from other devices:
a) When importing products that already exist with the same name but different category, it is now possible to select whether to keep the original or to additionally save the new product after renaming it.
b) Synonyms for products and units are also automatically evaluated here. If a product to be imported corresponds to the synonym of a known product, but has a different category, it can be determined what will be saved.
c) So far, unknown products from imported recipes have been accepted as new products without question. Now it can be checked individually whether it is only a different spelling of an already known product.

5. The table of known products now also shows their respective category as subtitle.

6. Recipes can now store the source from which they originate, e.g. an address on the Internet, the name of a book or a magazine. A photo can also be saved as a source with only a small memory consumption.. When importing a recipe from the Internet, the web address is automatically taken as the source.

7. When editing recipes, the cooking instructions and the source of the recipe are now accessible without having to leave the edit mode.

8. If a product on the shopping list is not available at the time of purchase, it was already possible to create a reminder for a later purchase at a specific time. However, if such a product is suddenly needed before the time of the reminder due to a change in plans, the app now notices this, removes the reminder and prompts the user to recreate it with an earlier time.

9. Bug fixes:
a) When changing the name of a product, category or unit, it was sometimes not possible to exit edit mode.
b) When importing recipes from the Internet, the quantity information was sometimes transferred incorrectly. This now works; incorrectly saved information is corrected.
c) Sharing recipes or the shopping list now works (tested with macOS 13.2.1).
d) When changing a website in the recipe browser, the buttons for ingredients and instructions recorded via the clipboard from the previous website were not reset.

10. Visual adjustments:
a) Larger buttons for scrolling back and forth in the recipe browser.
b) On the shopping list, the headings of each section, i.e. the product categories, are visually highlighted by bold and gray background, and their height is reduced at the same time to save space.
