It worked okay at first, but once I began adding videos to the drive, the app became very very slow and unresponsive for me. I am unable to view the videos on the drive now, because they either won’t load and keeps “tidying up” or the app crashes when trying to open. Also the new update made it so that you cannot switch to portrait mode on videos.

So at first I was really upset thinking that this device doesn’t work, so I tried it on my wife’s phone and it worked on hers so I though maybe it doesn’t support the XS MAX or something. So I plugged it back into my phone and what I did different on hers that I didn’t do on mine is that after you download the app, whenever you plug the device into your phone it asks to allow to send notifications and whatnot. I believe when it asks you all this it also allows the device to access your phone. So when that screen pops up to ask if you allow it to send you alerts, accept it, because after I did that, this thing has actually been a gem ever since! Just note that it never ask on my phone if I wanted to allow it to access my photos or anything, but on my wife’s iphone8 it did prompt that input from her. On my XS MAX it just asked if I want to allow it to send me alerts and notifications. I really hope this review helps anyone having trouble with this device.

Works to backup photos as expected. If you’re backing up more than 500 at a sitting I would probably make sure my phone was above 50%. It tends to eat battery life. Really wish the photos section could have individual albums that you could save from your devices camera roll. When you try to backup albums that get more pictures over time, they will line up in date taken order rather than by download or by individual album. Just wish you could group photos and look at them the way my phone lays them out when connected to the device.
