Using this app for getting house, office, and camper ideas on paper. With the bonus of getting a 3D walk through. I wish there were more customization options for flooring, wall paper/paint, and a larger library of items to decorate the space.

Would also like the ability to copy and paste items at the dimensions you set it at. I just spent a chunk of time adding double window panes to a long office wall that is all windows. Having to add each two pane set, edit it dimensions, and then drag it into place. There are 22 windows on that wall. It would have saved me sometime if I could have just copy and pasted the window.

Lastly, the bug. The office I am looking at renting isn’t built out yet. So I put the dimensions in here, and added the existing doors and windows for the space (the 22 windows mentioned above). Then I went in and added interior walls. Every wall I added made a window or door disappear. So I hade to add them back in as I went. And then when I went into 3D view some of the windows were walls. I assume that one of the rooms ‘completed’ itself and threw a wall up to be a completed room. But I don’t know for sure why it shows a window in the planning mode and a wall in 3D.

Tried a couple of other apps like this. The free version helped me make the decision. It was easy to get up to speed on the app and I was throwing together floor plans in no time. I like the 3D view and all the included design elements. A few quirky behaviors, but nothing that was a show stopper. For the price, how could you go wrong. I would be nice to be able to zoom in more to help refine placement and the wall heights behaved strangely in 3D. I found if you save the plan and reopen it seems to fix it.

I bought this app because we are thinking about building a new home and I want to experiment with floor plans before going to an architect. There are some nice features of this app, but it has some serious flaws, and lets be honest, that’s what we all care about. If you hit the “undo” button, the app crashes. If you try and change the font, the app crashes. There aren’t nearly enough door or window styles. I mean there isn’t a single normal interior door on the app. There isn’t a pre-built washer/dryer, so I had to use a refrigerator to replicate those. There isn’t even a dishwasher icon. The limitation of the add-ons is a bit disappointing considering this is a paid version. It’s also a little frustrating that this is single level build only. I really don’t want to pay $12 for a different app, but I’m afraid with the level of detail I would like to get in to, that is my next step. I do understand that this is only a $4 app and I didn’t spend thousands on a full CAD program that I would have no idea how to use. Just wish there were more of the basics already included.
