Amazing app (with great potential)

I was a big fan of the original heavy paint app and used it a lot for studies as well as just full artworks. And I’m very excited to see a more developed version of this app.

-That being said-
It does have some issues

I’m dealing with a very frustrating bug where the eyedropper tool just doesn’t work or at least almost never works. I think it’s only ever worked as intended twice, but like every other time, it just holds its color and even as it goes over things, it just doesn’t pick up what the color is under it. Justine as whatever the color already was. (This is very frustrating and it’s probably the thing preventing me from using this a lot more.) still the program just released so I imagine that will get fixed pretty soon.

Telling what an individual brush will do or is like is kind difficult until you actually try it like it would be cool to have some kind of preview or alternatively like with the old app away of seeing all the tools at once that was a very convenient feature.

Refreshing Digital Art Experience

I want to preface this review by saying I’ve had the Heavypaint app on my desktop computer for a while and I finally decided to get it on my iPad. I love how simple and easy to use the interface is, and the learning curve is minimal. It’s also a great app for learning some of the fundamentals of both digital and traditional art in the sense that it restricts the amount of extra fluff you have to deal with. I think the biggest appeal of this app is actually that it’s such a pared-down experience. All of the focus is on the process rather than the tool. It made me love digital art again. You’ve done something great with this!

Favorite painting app

This is my favorite painting app, but you have to approach with an open mind and some patience. This app is constantly being updated server-side by one guy, so things randomly don’t work correctly and new bugs pop up, but they’re fixed very quickly with new iterations. Painting-wise, there are tons of options, and I’m still experimenting and finding new things, and i have been using this for several months. The dedication and responsiveness from the dev is really great, and the community for this app is awesome.
