Grilla Grills 4+

I research pellet grills for a long time before purchasing. I even cooked on a recteq and Traeger before purchasing the grilla. The grill overall is built well and it cooks well BUT the app and the thermometer are 100% useless!! The app has not worked more than 3 times in the last year. I have had my grilla for about 18 months and cook 1-2 times a week on it. The onboard thermometer is off by at least 15-20 degrees. To make such a nice grill y’all need to hire an engineer to get the other stuff correct. Should have gone with a recteq as this is beyond frustrating.

I can’t understand why they don’t respond to anyone. I’ve reached out to their customer service team 4 times on a broken leg on my upper rack extension that was ridiculously overpriced to begin with seeing it should’ve simply come with the smoker. They simply ignore any service request customers submit through the service tickets on their website.

Why would any company buy a thriving business and run them into the ground? This company was quickly becoming a leader in the pellet smoker industry when they were locally owned in Michigan. They actually listened and responded to customers. Whoever bought them has a whole different philosophy in where they rank customers on their list of priorities.

I leave my feedback for the potential buyer and not Grilla because I’m pretty darn sure Grilla and their developers either don’t read the feedback or don’t care. Probably a little of both. If you’re reading this and on the fence of whether to get a Grilla or something else, I highly suggest you run quickly away from the Grilla. They’re charging premium tier pricing on grills they don’t stand behind, with an app that simply does nothing it’s supposed to do and they refuse to do updates on. These are legit app glitches that could be fixed by any rookie IOS app developer in minutes. Without a doubt I would go Reqtec 10 times over before doing another Grilla.

I’m not sure why this app has such bad reviews. Maybe from the smoking purists, but I love this app. They have great support on their website, and you can change all the settings for your grill from your phone. If I could make a couple suggestions: 1. The fact that I have to sign in every time I open the app is a little ridiculous. I would really love to not have to do that. I even have to sign in multiple times on a long cook. Very annoying. 2. Provide an option for the grill temp or probe temp to be displayed on the Dynamic Island. That would be SICK! And would make it simpler to bring up the app.
