Pronunciation is so helpful!

I am a foreign exchange student in Japan and have used this app to read train station signs, restaurant menus, and when studying Japanese.
I find it especially helpful when reading unknown place names (like Machida or Sagamiono), since I can pronounce them without having to to painstakingly use Google Translate.

When I arrived in Japan, my smartphone data was malfunctioning, but this app doesn’t require Wi-Fi, so it worked amazingly to get from Tokyo to my college dorm. This app also loads instantly and has basically no GUI, so I don’t have to go through an embarrassing process of pulling the app out, waiting for it to load, and seeing English words all over the screen. I also like to pause the camera and then read the text on the phone, which is a great feature. My camera roll is full of screenshots from this app of Furigana pronunciations! Haha

When texting my friends or studying Japanese, I often point this app at my other phone to read kanji I don’t know, and it works really well as a study tool!
This really is the ultimate app if you already know some Japanese but have trouble reading occasional Kanji you don’t understand.

Disclaimer: I am the developer of this app, but have found it very useful and am sharing my opinion on how I used it so far in Japan. I feel like many others can benefit from using this app, and highly suggest you download it before your next Japan trip! This app is extremely convenient to have and makes me sound a lot more fluent than I really am!
