Description

Freebites is THE destination for free food. At Freebites, we believe no student should go hungry, and no food should go to waste. Every day on college campuses, leftover food from events and dining halls is often discarded, even though many students could benefit from it. Freebites is here to bridge that gap by alerting students to free food opportunities in real-time, helping to fight both food insecurity and food waste. Whether you're rushing between classes, staying late for a study session, or simply trying to save money, Freebites has you covered. With just a few taps, you can discover nearby food options that suit your dietary preferences and availability.

Why Freebites?

• Real-time Alerts: Get immediate notifications when free food is available on your campus.
• Simple User Interface: Effortlessly browse food options, and view event details to decide if it’s worth making the trip.
• Customizable Preferences: Filter by dietary preferences (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) and set notifications to only see food that matches your needs.
• Connect with Event Hosts: Have questions about the food or its availability? Chat directly with the event hosts or fellow students for real-time updates.
• Reduce Food Waste: Help reduce food waste by ensuring leftover meals from events reach those who need them.

just what tufts neededddd

If you’re a student or worker at tufts you’ve probably heard of the free food e-list, which is a great idea to help people find free food so that it doesn’t go to waste. However, ever since school picked up, my email inbox has just been FLOODED with new messages all the time, I always end up missing the free food emails:( Turning this idea into an app really makes things better for everyone. Now I can get a direct notification about food opportunities straight from one app!
