Description

Revolutionary personal database app.

Formbook is a new generation database app in which you create form based notes to easily store information.

Formbook is the perfect app for structured information note taking. With Formbook, notes behave like database forms: create a notebook and define the fields you need to store your information.

Form based notes have amazing benefits:
- Gain a huge amount of time while taking notes as you just need to fill in form fields.
- Instantly obtain chart stats on the data contained in your notebooks.
- Share notebooks for collaboration with other Formbook users.

Here are some usage examples. Create notebooks to:
- Keep track of your progress in sport training.
- Remember your favorite restaurants in places you visit.
- Store your recipes.
- Follow to do tasks.
- Prepare a trip by describing the places to visit.
- Keep track of any object inventory (with barcode reader).

Formbook comes with a powerful dashboard feature that visually displays charts on your data. Personalize your charts and analyse data in detail.

Formbook is cross device: notes are automatically synchronized on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch via iCloud.
Formbook is also available on your Apple Watch: access your notes and notebooks directly from you Apple Watch.

Formbook is powered by AI: save time with the new automated form builder. Enter your notebook name and Formbook infers the database fields.

Choose among 30 form field types when conceiving your notebook structure:
- Short text field
- Long text field
- Secret text field revealed by FaceID or TouchID
- Code text field (programming languages)
- Number
- Currency
- Stepper (number)
- Slider (number)
- Calculation (using the data from other fields)
- Yes/No button
- Date and Time fields
- Duration
- Images and photos
- List of elements (with optional checkboxes)
- List of tags
- Rating (with stars)
- Email (with compose button)
- Address (with map access)
- Phone number (with compose button)
- URL (with browse button)
- Barcode and QR code (with scan button)
- Current location (latitude, longitude, address)

Export your notes as PDF file and CSV file to use the data with spreadsheet apps.

Nice app, needs more computation

Nice app. Supposedly privacy preserving, can export your data for using elsewhere... But if you are here to really manage your data / process, you will run into gaps quickly.

Dev, perhaps consider...
- date math in calculated fields (i.e. 'days to arrive' based on 'order date' minus 'arrival date'). right now you can only do math on number fields.
- system variables (i.e. 'days until harvest' based on 'today's date' minus 'expected harvest date'). no way to implement as far as i can tell.
- more complex reporting functions, such as 'average germination rate' not being the average of my germination rate field (this is possible today, but 'wrong'), but 'sum of all germinated' divided by 'sum of planted' across all notes in a notebook
- dynamic fields, where if a condition is met, the field appears, otherwise, it is hidden. (consider the 'days until harvest' 10 years from now, we would have huge negative numbers here, unless we could say 'disable if 'harvested?' = yes, or something along those lines. or how about 'if the user said x, then they also should be asked to provide y?)
- minor graphical glitches resolved. unsettling to have obvious bugs where something important may be managed.
- moving 'groups of fields' at once. maybe by section, if using the section functionality.

Nice concept

I’ve been looking for a simple, yet customizable, and easy to use database for planning and tracking group Bible studies. I just downloaded this. I like it so far. But I see a few glitches. There are some editing problems. For example, I have separate “notebooks”, which seems to be the equivalent of a table / form. I’ve referenced my Names notebook from my Attendance notebook. When I modify a name in the Names notebook, it doesn’t change in the Attendance notebook. And there’s no unselect. I can recreate a NEW name with the same spelling as the 1st name, and then unselect the original entry in the attendance, but that’s an annoying work-around.

It seems this app has a lot of potential. I’ll continue playing with it for now.

Wondeful app, needs a few features and maybe some polish.

First off, the potential for this app is great, and I appreciate your vision for the app.

Please consider implementing a few features to import data - so we have a good starting point.
It would also be nice to have a few additional data types - lists/sets of objects of same and dissimilar types, file data type, reference to another note (from any other notebook), rich text/markdown editor for a long text field, and finally (probably into the far future, or if it is possible at all) - visualising those connections between notes. This would make this notebook app a Zettelkasten that's got super powers!
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful app, and wish you a very happy new year 2022!
