The app we need, but doesn’t work

We desperately need an app like this in 2023, to be aware of our infrastructure & lobby/pay for better provisions if need be, in this era of persistent woodland burning, but sadly, the app does not work. 1) It would not display any hydrants near me, even in the nearest very large city, 2) it crashed constantly. Really wish this worked because amazingly I can’t find anything like it & it’s hard data to come across even on our county GIS map.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. Our system is dependent on your local fire department using our service so that we can provide the most accurate information to our users. Ask your local fire department to sign up or contact us to add the fire hydrants. This will allow us to display which fire hydrants are in and out of service and which ones have sufficient flow in case of an emergency.

With Residential Mode, you can add fire hydrants near your home and report issues, but your department would need to be using our service to get those reports.

Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. You can also provide us with the city and we can reach out to your local fire department to obtain the fire hydrant data.

UPDATE SEP 10
Hello again! Wanted to give a quick update, we have a version in the the review process that now searches outside sources to provide more fire hydrant locations, so you should see them once the update is published.

Literally does nothing.

I downloaded the app and got a monthly subscription for $6.99, expecting that there would actually be something that shows up. Nothing at all. Even when searching for a fire department using my home address, shows nothing found. Cancelled the subscription.

Waste of my time

I downloaded this to obtain a database of where fire hydrants were close to my property. Opening it, I find I am expected to crowdsource such a database for the app, finding hydrants myself and documenting them. If I wanted to do that, I wouldn’t need this app at all.
