An experimental augmented reality project.
"experiments in free-drumming II" is a motion-capture extended reality performance that expands the sonic capabilities of marching-style drums and envisions a post-human version of drumline. The audience will witness a transformation of traditional drum sounds and rhythms, and interact with virtual artifacts via augmented reality. The virtual extension of the performance explores a post-human environment, delving into what a drumline might resemble once its regimented and militaristic roots are stripped away using familiar yet otherworldy imagery and artifacts.
