Ratings and Reviews
Great game, but buggy
My wife and I love the game, but each of the last two days have discovered bugs. Today we guessed Fiji, and were told to go 10,381 miles north. We were confused, so we chose North Korea. We were then told to go 5571 miles north west. The answer was France… As you can see, the directions were completely wrong. This happened to us yesterday as well with the US Virgin Islands. We were sent all over the globe with incorrect directions. Also, the US Virgin Islands only showed St. Thomas. The game is predicated on having accurate directions, so we hope you can sort the bugs out, because we really enjoy playing.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for the review.
We have updated the directions hints so that they now follow a traditional flat map system rather than the global directions that can sometimes point around the north or south poles.
Thank you for your support.
Game needs clarification and fixing
This game is a great concept, but it has constant errors. For example, I have on numerous occasions been told my answer was incorrect and in one direction that would not be possible. For example, I guessed Norway on one game, and was told that I was wrong and the correct answer was 4,000 or some number of miles north of Norway, which is impossible. This happens very frequently in the game.
Also, the game makers should clarify as to what are possible answers. This may be somewhat nitpicky, but on one occasion Aruba was the answer, and Aruba is not an independent country y but rather a part of Denmark. Also, on several occasions I have been told “no country with that name” for countries that clearly exist, such as Micronesia and the Marshall Islands I believe. So they really need to clarify what their definition of a country consists of, whether it would for example be simply Great Britain or if they would have separately England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland separately. And the last I heard Antarctica is certainly not a country of its own nor is it a territory of any one nation. So that is but one more example of the errors or lack of directions from the programmers of this game.
They need to fix this game.
This is a great game to play to try to test myself to learn the shapes of the world’s countries. It’s also often very very inaccurate with the island nations. If there’s a country with more than one island it will likely show one, and it might not even be the most important one. The country was Palau the other day and the island outline that was shown was one of the smallest islands to the south that very few people live on, and doesn’t even have the capitol on it. Same with Equatorial Guinea, the Bahamas, and many others.
This could be fixed if the developers spent 10 minutes per country looking up on google maps the first 2 things about it. It’s really not that hard. For god’s sake don’t spend any money on this game. I almost hope they get bought out by the little GeoGuessr/Seterra monopoly that’s starting to form so this stuff actually makes sense.
Also, I find it really entertaining reading all the reviews that complain about the “bad directions” when really the commenter is clearly just an idiot that doesn’t realize how lines on a globe work. Yes, France is some 10,000 miles north of Fiji, and I hate to break it to you but we don’t live on a rectangle like you see in school.
