Dynasty Origins: Conquest 12+

I just started the game today and it is very similar in almost everything to the Era of Might and Magic. That being said, I love it and like that they did something like that with the Warring Kingdoms era history. It’s fantastic. Haters are gonna hate, especially whales but I think it’s awesome. They also add aspects to the units similar to auto chess, say for example Lei Bei is of the Shu; gathering others of Shu gives a Shu related attribute based on the amount of Shu units deployed. It’s pretty neat! I’ll continue to see what awesome things they have put together for this game.

If I had to say anything bad about it is that the graphical display on IPhone 12 Pro Max makes the wording and icons particularly small. I think it would be very enjoyable on a 12” or larger screen.

GuanYu, ZhangFei, ZhaoYun, and LuBu(all who are fan favorites) are behind a pay wall. And it’s a very high cost. Also, the rates for different heroes other than three pretty common ones are terrible. I’ve rerolled at least 30 times, and I’ve gotten ZhangLiao once. The rest are trash units that aren’t good to invest into, which starts to matter around account lvl30. There is real time pvp. But it’s limited to 3 times a day. And you have to pay 100 ingots(the premium currency) to get three more chances. And then that’s it. No more real time strategy after that. I will say the guild system is really good, but it is overshadowed by the pay to win garbage. It’s very disappointing. This game has the foundation to be great, but the devs need to nip the pay to win trash in the bud. But let’s be honest, when do devs ever listen to that kind of complaint? I’m not saying make everything free, but $100 for a 3 star popular hero? And then at least $400 to make said hero max stars? And then paying that all over again for another hero to get the formation bonus? And then paying for them is the ONLY way to get them? Come on now. That’s ridiculous. That’s two car payments. Or more than a PlayStation 5. Or half(if not more) than most people’s house/rent payment. Or the price of a decent laptop. You get the picture. It’s outrageous.

I want to start this off with some good things before I get to its one really bad flaw. The game is a blast to play and the gameplay is fun and interactive. That being said the major flaw is that to get any new characters in the game you have to pay money to get them. There aren’t any events that allow to get the fragments needed to get the new characters and as such free to play people or even those who only spend a little can’t even compete with those that spend lots of money. I just wish there were more ways to get fragments of characters rather than just paying for them. And the events are open for such a short amount of time. (Generally like 3 days). This makes it impossible to get anything from the events unless you’ve been saving real life money for them. I wish there was a way you could get fragments by just playing the game and completing missions in it. Like for example this new Zhao Yun event could have a mission where you have to use the old Zhao Yun to be so many enemies to get fragments but there isn’t. There is no other way to earn fragments then to buy them.
