Description
DSI Wassup helps the traveling salesman document their activities throughout the day. After each activity, such as visiting or calling a customer or prospect, the salesman enters the activity in DSI Wassup. The entry can document the activity type, the branch or sales territory, the company and contact that the activity pertains to, and a detail of the activity. DSI Wassup then emails this formatted activity to a user defined email address.
The salesman and sales manager can review this email and easily see the salesman's daily activities. The DSI Wassup client formats the email to make them uniform and easy to read and easy to sort by salesman, branch, etc. In many cases, just having this information in email form is adequate.
For companies that desire the ability to print reports and do analysis, we offer a free php web script that will read the emails from the email server and save them into a SQL Server database. This makes reporting and analysis much easier.
So here is how it would work:
After the salesman visits a customer, he enters information about this activity on his iPad in DSI Wassup. He specifies that the activity was a visit to a customer, what sales territory they were in, the company and contact name that was visited and then enters detailed information of the visit. After they finish entering this information, they press the send button. The activity information is sent to a special email address setup just for receiving Wassup activities. The salesman then goes on to the next sales call.
Meanwhile, back at the office, the sales manager can monitor this special email account and can watch in real time as salesmen post their activities. At the end of the week, the sales manager can sort this email account by salesman name and get a consise list of exactly what the salesman has accomplished during the week.
Although DSI Wassup was designed with the distribution salesman in mind, it is great for documenting activities in other areas as well.
