DramaBox - Stream Drama Shorts 12+

Of all of the short drama, real drama shorts and minor movie apps this one hands-down wins like the other app I reviewed real short I would strongly recommend the $200 option for a yearly subscription. This one is more reasonable on the price per minute for lack of a better description and reward system is not really worth dealing with and just go get the $200 option if you like this I have a tendency to watch the hidden identity and supernatural martial art style dramas as well as the ones that were similar to American daytime television during the 90s this one was very upfront about the subscription options versus the pay a few minutes of questionable writing. I used to work for one of the studios that did this type of daytime production New York so I was not on the production team. I did have significant access and very much enjoyed these as a distraction. I have taken a liking to the Chinese version which I find quite enjoyable, most of the content on here is import. There is some English and some questionable quality dubs all fun to listen to and to some extent this one does better transitions between scenes and less repetitive with the screen transitions. you’ll notice most of the other apps make you rewatch almost 20 seconds of material every few minutes that is just evil

Really like the short episodes with the vertical format. I think this is a great way of showing little stories that doesn’t require a ton of like production and what not. The acting isn’t like what you’d see on like well known tv and things but it has its own charm that’s really nice.

That being said I think getting currency for free should be improved a little. I understand that making users watch ads to continue watching these mini stories is incentive to purchase the coins and i have no issue with that. But the problem is that when doing the things to receive free coins it is simply not enough. If you decided to watch 15 ads to get coins you’d only be rewarded with 30 coins which is enough for 6 episodes when most series have over 30 episodes. This doesn’t include how much time you’d spend to watch 15 ads. Because not only are the ads 30+ seconds long but you have 20 second wait times between each time you watch the ads. It takes too long and you get very little in return. I’m not saying just give out coins for free but making them a little easier and convenient acquire would be great.

I finished the free trial they give you. Then after that if you don't want to spend $18 a week OR $200 a year the coins needed to unlock episodes are insanely expensive. For $4 you get 40 coins which is good for 8 episodes since each episode costs 5 coins. Now if you didn't want to spend money at all you are given 10 episodes that you have to watch 1 ad for each episode. The problem I find with that is the ads are 3x longer than the episodes themselves. Once you finish those 10 episodes there's a bunch of ways to get free coins.... watch ads... you can watch 15 extra ads for 2 coins per ad totaling 30 coins. Issue is now you're watching 15 ads for 6 videos and again you're spending more time with ads than what you actually want to watch. I don't use this app enough to even consider dropping a subscription but honestly if you didn't use this app a lot and you had the money to burn 200$ isn't a bad deal as some of the shows are highly addicting. It's nice to watch something different every once in a while.
