Description
This app lets you measure the point-to-point (great-circle) distance between two or more waypoints on a map or measure the surface area defined by a polygon having three or more points as its corners.
It uses online maps so it needs an internet connection.
Tap and hold to set a new waypoint, tap the options icon to read the manual or to open the settings view to change the map type or the measuring unit. You can choose between (kilo)meters, feet/yards/miles and nautical miles. The options menu also lets you choose to go to the Save/Restore view.
Tap the calculated measurement at the bottom of the map to switch between feet/yards/miles or meters/hectometers/kilometers.
What’s New
Version 3.5.9
Fixed a bug in moving an annotation to a different location.

Updates Needed
Very handy app!!
The manual needs updating since, for example, the delete key (X) is no longer available.
Would be big improvement if two ICAO identifiers or two cities could be entered into the search block. This would make for more accurate computation instead of trying to drop the pin in just the right location.
Perfect App
I had to find a tool like this when Google took away the measure feature. This app works great for me. I've only used the distance measurement so far. Put a first waypoint and save, and you have a "pin". Take a screen shot of your map and keep it in your photos. The email feature is nice too. Just what I wanted. Simple and accurate. Nice job!
Update 2017-September. Still going strong on this app. I appreciate that the writer keeps up with it. Tried the airprint feature and it works great in hybrid and map view. Easy to toggle thru map unit changes. There is a pro version to pay and remove adds. See the settings page at the bottom. Thanks!
Update July 2019-still maintained by developer and still great IMO. Satellite photos are high quality as well.
It's a Good App
I just wish I could pay a couple of bucks instead of dealing with the full-length ad taking up so much real estate. Not to mention, the banner showing ads of questionable legitimacy. You have to be careful not to accidentally hit the thing, which I guess is the point. Obviously, it's the dev's right to make money however he/she sees fit. I guess it's my right not to like the way they choose, and in this case, I'm afraid that's what's happened. I'm just a typical ad-hater, and if I use an app more than a few times/year, I always pay for the "pro" version (or whatever they call it) to get rid of the ads. I wish I could have done so here as well.
