Cultural Care - Host Family 4+

The app is super easy to use and communicate to au pairs with. I do miss some features from the website though. For example, there’s no way to “hide” or remove au pairs from your search results after you review their profile and determine you don’t want to interview.
Additionally, some of the filters are set up only way. For example, you can filter for ONLY gluten free au pairs but you can’t filter for NO gluten free au pairs. Not a big deal but it does slow things down.

The Cultural Care Host Family App is a fantastic tool that has truly enhanced our au pair experience. The app’s user-friendly design makes it simple to navigate and manage all aspects of hosting. From detailed au pair profiles to customizable search filters, finding the perfect match was seamless and efficient. The app also offers a helpful messaging feature, making communication with potential au pairs and Cultural Care staff quick and easy. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a platform that prioritizes convenience and clarity for host families.

What sets this app apart is its range of supportive resources and tools. The built-in calendar is a standout feature, allowing us to coordinate schedules and plan important dates effortlessly. Additionally, the library of tips and guidelines has been invaluable for understanding and managing our host family responsibilities. Whether you’re new to hosting or have years of experience, this app ensures a smoother, more enjoyable process. We highly recommend it to anyone embarking on their hosting journey with Cultural Care!

This app resembles a dating app experience but the stakes are much higher— an au pair who will care for your children and live in your home. Here’s a list of features I dislike:

1. Search has a Strong emphasis on hobbies and interests - these are a nice to have but none would disqualify an au pair and I would welcome interests different than our own for the whole cultural exchange. I dislike that they recommend au pairs based on their interests aligning with yours. Please de-emphasize this.

2. Can’t X out au pairs you don’t think are a good fit - please add back so we don’t reach out to same person accidentally.

3. Missing relevant filters like type of childcare experience - please add back in.

4. I can’t see what they studied in university (I like to know their interests and long term goals and how this au pair experience fits with them).

5. Limits to number of candidates you see (filters aren’t transparent) - I don’t like the universe of au pairs being limited so substantially - please be transparent about all filters used and include full universe of au pairs

6. Lots of missing info that used to be in profiles like city they are from (helps contextualize the environment they have experience driving in), how they help around the house, date of birth etc. please add back all this useful info that has now been removed.
