HOW TO PLAY

I’m impressed.
I’ve been playing a lot of mobile games lately and was pleasantly surprised by this one. I downloaded it based on what I saw in an ad and the game is actually what was advertised. Additionally, I find the number of ads within the game to be nicely balanced. It’s not constantly bombarding me with an endless onslaught of advertising. And it’s an enjoyable game.
Some sort of an odd scam
After seeing several ads for Cube Out I finally got it, it had a really simple puzzle that took a few seconds to solve. The second one was slightly more complex but also not that difficult but still enjoyable. I decided to click to add an additional box. After clicking I was told I’d have to watch an ad and I was fine with it, but then I got a message that I needed to upgrade to new version to enable the additional box feature. I clicked the link and it installs a new game that’s identical (but uglier) called Screw Sort 3D,l by a different company. The game play is the same but different puzzles. Out of curiosity I click to add an additional box and once again I’m told I need to get the updated version, the new game is by yet another company and called something else! Not sure what all this nonsense is but I just don’t want to deal with it. There are too many good games to have to deal with silly things like these.
I paid for the upgrade and still have to watch ads!!
I decided to pay for the $7.99 upgrade to not have to watch ads while playing this game. It seems to have taken away the ads between levels, but if I want to open the extra cases, it requires me to watch a 120 second ad PER CASE. This is just OBNOXIOUS if I’ve PAID to SKIP ADS.
I understand having additional bonuses available for sale. I can either choose to use those or not. But if I have paid to get rid of ads, then I should at least be able to open the extra cases on each level without having to watch 240 seconds of ads PER LEVEL.
The buildings are cute, but if they don’t fix this issue for paying customers, then I don’t recommend this particular app. Save your money.
