Description

If you've ever made a splice layout cheat sheet you may find this app handy.

Quickly enter cable counts using the cable Id picker. Set your cable grouping configurations and click the gold Csplice button to have the app compare the relationship of all entered cable counts. The app will then break down counts into your entered grouping configurations and display a colored cable block next to counts to show which cable to look for its matching count to splice to. The latest update lets the user click a matched count and the app will just show the matching groups with the clicked on cable count highlighted in orange. If any of the matching counts aren't of a full group the app will expand the group into individual conductors. See image 5 for an example.

New feature: Printable splice layouts! Run the Csplice app as usual. Then click the "Document" button on the tool bar. Use your devices "Files" app and navigate to "On My iPhone" > "Csplice" folder > Csplice.pdf file and share the pdf file by email to a printer connected computer.

This app shall be used only as a handy secondary reference tool as we know there are mistakes made in the field and incorrect records that always need to be taken into account. Use of a tone source as a primary identifier will always be more accurate.

Csplice works with either fiber optic or copper pair cable counts.

Csplice works with the latest versions of my "Fiber Optic Color Code" and "25 Pair Color Code" apps as well.

Go to https://tntapps.blogspot.com/2021/04/csplice.html for more usage details and conversation..

Opening Screen:
Enter a short name/description of splice and click green "+" button.

Then select your newly named splice button to begin entering cable counts.

App saves up to 10 splices, when an 11th splice is entered the bottom splice in the list is deleted.

Clicking the red "-" button deletes selected splice with confirmation.

Csplice screen:
Enter your cable counts into any of the cable inputs (10 cable counts max).

Set your group type configurations in the upper input boxes.

example of group types:(not limited to)
6 , 8, 12, 12-1, 25, 25-1, 144-12, 288-12, 600-25, 100-25, 100-25+, 2400-100-25

Clicking the "Say It" button reads back counts to user to verify correct count entry.

Click the round gold colored Csplice button at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will put the app into Csplice mode which displays a colored block to show cable count relations between the groups pairs/fibers of all entered counts.

When a cable has been "Parsed" the app user can overwrite the "Cable Size = ###" box text with their own short note. example: "48F West" "600pr North" etc...

After clicking the Csplice button an empty check box is activated in the top left corner of each cable count. Checking a cable count check box will filter out all unrelated groups and displays only all other related cables with their related group counts.

If a groups pairs have non-matching counts they are preserved in the group to keep fiber/pair counting integrity.

To edit a cable count after clicking gold round button. Uncheck any filtered cable and click any clear button 2x. Beware that 3rd click of the clear button clears the cable count.

Click on the "CC" button to have the app open either my Fiber Optic Color Code or 25 Pair Color Code app , depending on group type configuration, with the count automatically put into the opened app. If user doesn't have either app installed App Store will open to purchase / install it.

This app works with the splice://icc? url scheme with the optional parameters of name, cab1, cab2, cab3, cab4, cab5, cab6, cab7, cab8, cab9, cab10

This url scheme can be used by other applications (email, web page or app) to open this app with the parameters used to fill in the data automatically of a splice.

example:
splice://icc?name=Test%20splice&cab1=1234N,1-864&cab2=1234N,289-432%0AA,1-24%0A1234N,1-120&cab3=B,1-8%0A1234N,631-632%0AB,11-24%0A1234N,121-144

What’s New

Version 2.01

Exciting update!
After putting app into Csplice mode the user can click a count that has a matching count (noted by the colored block) and the app will only show the clicked on matching count groups. Also the count you clicked on will be highlited in orange. If the group has more than one count the app will then display the group in individual fibers/pairs.

Very Helpful App Bundle

Slight learning curve for the new and old timer splicers.

Would be nice if developer made a how to video on how to use the apps to get the most out of each app and truly experience the power and time saving capabilities of this bundle.

But all in all great VERY useful apps.

Developer Response ,

Hi Anonymous! Thank you!!

I have a blog type tutorial for user questions that can be found at ( http://tntapps.blogspot.com/ ). There are a total of 4 pages to check out with the latest being for the Csplice app.

6-15-24: Cable counts made easier than ever now. Clicking a matching count (noted by the colored blocks) will only show the matching ribbons of the count you click. If a count is not of a full ribbon it will break the count down the counts into individual fibers for ease of identification. Let us know what you think of this latest update. :)
