Example Lamentation 1

1–4 My divine covering shall not be blown away. I will not lose God’s glory over my life; I will not lose my stand and position in Christ. My faith grows and does not wrinkle; I ceaselessly and increasingly bear the fruit of the Spirit abundantly. The gifts of the Spirit flow freely in my life; I will not know the grief of the Holy Spirit’s departure from backsliders.

5 Satan is always under my feet and never will become my master. Those who hate me hate my God, and those who hate Him cannot prosper. The LORD has brought me joy because of the finished work of Christ. No problem drives me out of faith in Christ; I shall not be exiled from faith or become a captive of sin again.

6 God's aura and His Majesty's splendor shall not depart from me. I will not be like a starving deer searching for pasture; I am too strong to run from the enemy.

7 I shall not become a wreckage of past glory; I will not become a symbol of mismanaged success now wriggling in doom. I shall not become a used-to-be man/woman of God; the devil will never have a cause to laugh at me.

8 I shall not fall into sin and, therefore, will not be tossed away like a filthy rag. I keep my honor; I will not be stripped naked or humiliated. I will not groan or hide my face.

9 I am thoughtful of my future; I shall not defile myself with immorality. I shall not fall into the gutter or bear the price of unfaithfulness.

10 No enemy lay hands on my treasures; no demon enters my body — it is eternally forbidden.

11-12 I will not groan or lack or trade my valuables for food.

13 From on high, the Lord sent revival fire into my bones. He prepared the path for my feet and granted me speed to run. He made me prosperous and renewed my strength like the eagle.

14 The blood of Christ has blotted out my sins; I am free from the yoke of sin; the Lord empowers me and has handed over the devil to my hands.

15 The Lord has accepted and established me; He drives away from me devourers and predators.

16 This is why I laugh, and my eyes overflow with tears of joy. The Lord restores my soul, and my spirit is refreshed. My children flourish because I have prevailed over the enemy.

17 The Lord is my Shepherd; I am not in need of help. Far or near, my enemies bow to me.

18 The LORD is righteous; therefore, I keep His word and do His bidding. Listen, all you peoples; look upon my blessings; my children are established in the worship of God.

19 I shall not perish or starve in the service of God.

20 I shall not rebel against the Lord; therefore, my heart shall not be broken, and my soul shall not despair. I am blessed in the streets and blessed at home.

21–22 I shall not groan or be the one to pity; I will not be distressed or gloated over. My enemies cry on account of my blessings and God’s protection.
