Ratings and Reviews
Buggy, no support
I’ve emailed support about how to use this app properly but never received any response.
The biggest issue is that after creating many snippets I cannot delete them. They do not respond to button presses. I can delete folders but they don’t actually delete. Instead, it creates more snippets of what I wanted to delete.
This could be a useful app if the bugs were fixed. But since no response in two weeks period I will request a refund.
Seems Half-Baked and Poorly Developed
Support is slow to respond and wants to bribe users to take down bad reviews. On top of that, I’ve identified some concerns that call into question the competence of the team developing the app.
- They included all the generated license keys in a csv file in the mac app. So who even needs to buy it?
- The OpenAI functionality oddly communicates directly with OpenAI. This means they either include or download an OpenAI api key. In fact, right now, the only network traffic the app is allowed to send on my computer is to OpenAI, so I know I have a copy of that API key somewhere local. Which is asking for someone to abuse and generate a large bill at best, if not worse... Depending on the scope of the key.
- Your clipboard history is sent to Google Firebase for syncing between apps and not using the native iCloud sync. This means the passwords and other sensitive info (which are in the clipboard all the time), get sent to a private datastore they have access to... and as you can tell they lack a sense of security.
If they can't even get the product activation right, include a full list of license tokens in the app, and they expose a sensitive OpenAI API Key... I'm not sure how much to trust the rest of the app. Especially since they send a copy of your clipboard to their Firebase instance. Who knows what they do with that or what their poor security posture could lead others to do with it.
If I didn't have Little Snitch to lock down network access, I'd definitely not personally (and not recommend others) enabling copy history. Or even use this app at all.
Hands down - The Best ClipBoard manager
I have tried many clipboard manager, because I copy and paste a lot during my work. This has the best overview, is bug free and just does what it's supposed to do includes an AI.
Simply a great piece of software.
