Description

Community Star changes the conversation around chores. Rather than focusing on the work that isn't being done, you can celebrate the work that is happening in the house! Rest easy knowing that your contributions aren't being overlooked. Show your gratitude by liking tasks and awarding bonus stars!

By building consensus around the value of each task, you can discover important trends about who might be overworked and who can take on more.

By motivating folks to record their labor with rewards, you can preserve valuable information about how frequently tasks are getting done. Never again wonder how long it's been since the floors were swept!

Positive motivation for tasks I want and no reminders!

As a neurodivergent person with ADHD and OCD, this app works well for me because it allows me to fact-check all-or-nothing distortions about how often much my family contributes.

I also love that it only works on positive reinforcement and never has notifications, flashing red badges, or overdue messages. I look forward to putting in stars and recording that I did something! I never dread opening it, and it just works. The Bonus Stars help me prioritize tasks and understand where my labor can contribute to the house best.

I am the head of household in my home and I’ve started using this app to track my chores, as well as that of family members. Both did not want to make accounts, so I made accounts for them and log their points just for my own piece of mind. It helps me to feel grateful and know that things are getting done!

The creators are extremely responsive to feedback and seem to have an exciting roadmap planned.

Fills the gap in accessible chore distribution

I was one of the first users of the app and have been pleased with it. It helps visualize who is doing what and how labor is distributed. In my household, there was disagreements about who was doing the most chores and caused a lot of tension. This app has helped us work out these issues. One of my favorite parts of the app is being able to input the chores and point values, so it can work for multiple households. The developers have always been open to suggestions on how to make the app more accessible and new ways to improve it.

Useful, User-Friendly, Versatile

I like that there are many chores to choose from and that you can also write in your own.
Whether you’re tracking for yourself or a group, it’s practical & easy to use.
I love that it logs the time you last did something in case you forget by the time you need to do it again.
I like that plant care is an option, and I love that you can add in your own, like pet care, caregiving, taking meds, schoolwork, etc.
It might be cool if the app included the option to set reminders.
