** OUR STORIES **

ADVENTURE 1: And The Sun Went Out

Approximately 600,000 words and 2,400 choices in total!

What if the sun inexplicably vanished only to return hours later? Investigate with your AI companion, Moti. Uncover conspiracies. Discover ancient religions. Travel the globe.

Find out who is murdering scientists and what this has to do with the random disappearances of the sun. This is your journey, and only your choices can expose the truth.

ADVENTURE 2: And Their Souls Were Eaten

You have a gift. With your gift, the dead are never truly gone.

But what if there is a dark side to your gift? What if there are those who can pervert your talent, and alter the balance of life and death?

Travel across a steampunk 1830s Europe, where metal is magical, giving powers to those who wear it. Learn more about your ancient gift and what it means for you, your family, and humanity. Uncover the nefarious plot to destroy all life... and fight against time to stop your enemy from destroying everything you hold dear.

ADVENTURE 3: And Their Heroes Were Lost

You wake up in a dirty prison cell with no memory of who you are. And, you're not alone. Who are the other prisoners? What are they to you? Are they your allies... or enemies?

Will you escape? Try to find out who you are? Why did the people who captured you steal your memories—instead of just killing you? Travel the world as you uncover the details of a past that holds many secrets, and a future that is in peril.

"What’s really innovative about Choices...unlike traditional gamebooks that have a definite end, Choices: And the Sun Went Out is a continuing gamebook that will be updated weekly, allowing you to progress through the story over time. As you make choices in your story, it will advance in ways completely differently than other readers when weekly content is added." - PocketTactics.com

One of the best choice-based games out there!

Many choice-based story games always seem to follow the same formula. Your choices never felt like they mattered and, in the end, they really didn’t. You always ended up at a same (or similar) ending, only slightly altered to fit some of the choices you’d made. But not this game. Every choice felt like it matter. Every little choice could, on one hand, save someone that you’d befriended. But that choice could also as easily get someone killed. It was a toss up and that’s what I liked so much about the stories in this game. It always has you on edge and makes you wonder if you’re making the decision.
I’d definitely recommend giving this story game a go and play through each of the stories, especially if you’ve been looking for a ‘real’ choice based game for awhile. Also, I’d recommend purchasing the story pass. Not only does it make the experience a bit more enjoyable, but also allows you to support the developers and the writers who made this incredible game!

You can’t reread past lines

In my opinion this is a huge fundamental flaw with this game. I feel like for a story based game, being able to actually, you know, read the story in full as you’ve progressed so far. If this was a paper book in front of you, it’s like every time you finish a page it burns up and you can never read that page again. Except in the case of this game instead of even every page it’s nearly every sentence. This is a huge problem for maintaining continuity and context who pick this game up for short sessions over time. And I get it, you guys probably did it to get people to want to keep playing for long periods of time, and therefore spend money to keep being able to make decisions and progress the story.

But the way it’s set up now it’s hostile to the free players. It’s also inaccessible. For people who have cognitive issues or other neurodivergences and can’t always recall or maintain the focus needed to make the choices they wanted to without having all the rest of the story available to them, it’s nearly unplayable.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to create a setting that players can toggle on or off to able to read the story thus far, come on, you can do it

Loving it so far

I’m still working through “And the Sun Went Out”, but it’s absolutely incredible so far! The plot and characters are extremely engaging, and it just keeps you wanting for more! There are consequences for your actions, which I definitely like. (Which is a low bar, but it really makes you want to choose the best option.) And I absolutely LOVE the LGBTQ+ inclusion! It made me so much more excited that it existed (and the fact that you didn’t even have to choose romance as an option as well)! There are choice tickets where you typically have to watch ads to get them, but I’m totally fine with that as, a. it’s a free app with free stories, and b. you can just keep watching ads to get more! The app works pretty smoothly and the format is neat and readable (though my only complaint is that you can’t go back a page to figure out what it said if you missed it or accidentally tapped twice). Otherwise, everything is really, really, good, and if you’re interested in choose-your-own-adventure stories, this is definitely one to pick!
