Ratings and Reviews
Needs filters
Original review below, updated review based on 1.6.1 update.
The app now has filters! The new update is great—you can choose what types of restaurants/food you want or don’t want. Also h/t to the developer who replied to my review to let me know about the filters, and then provided great support when they weren’t working on my version of iOS. We had some great back and forth to track down the bug and he released an update to address it. Bumping my rating up to 5 stars!
Original review
Great app except that it needs filters. When I fire it up it tells me there are 269 restaurants nearby. Lots of them are fast food places, but there are also a lot of sit down places. Really needs at least basic filters like fast food, sit down, etc. Also, as another user said, would be nice to both narrow to specific things you want or exclude things you definitely don’t want. But I do like the info icon for each restaurant that shows location and gives a link for their website.

I am glad you are enjoying the app. I am happy to let you know that as of 1.6.0 (now available), you and your friends can define filters to narrow down your options.
Awesome!
My wife and I have never decided on a place so quickly. Out of 119 restaurants we only matched on one 🤣
That being said … I think a feature to at least narrow down the number of restaurants to flip through would be nice. Something like being able to eliminate the places we know we don’t want. So if we tell the app we definitely don’t want Chinese, no Chinese places will pop up.
The opposite would be nice too, like being able to tell the app we only want Italian places to select from.
As I’m sure whoever created this app was smart enough to steal it from the meme, I hope to only see this app get better. I do wonder which came first .. the app? Or the meme?

I am glad you have been enjoins the app! I am happy to let you know that as of 1.6.0 you can now filter the choices you see to narrow down your results. (each person playing can have their own set of filters).
Good / Possible additions?
Great potential and very functional for an app that helps me and my husband decide what to eat for dinner on occasion. One function that would be incredibly helpful would be the ability to randomize the order in which your restaurant/food options appear. For example, my husband and I live in an area that has 141 places to choose from. That is a lot of places to swipe through. And because they are always in the same order, there is no element of surprise. I think we only have the patience to swipe 10-15 times before we are over it and end the game in order to view our matches. We’d much rather have a randomized selection of say, 15 nearby restaurants that we have to swipe left or right on, given to us at random by whichever filters (also a good possible addition) are applied. It would give users variety, gives them the chance to try something new, while still placing the overall choice in the users stomachs. :)

Update: Nov 6, 2024: The new update, 1.12.0 adds sort functionality. On the main screen, tap on the sort icon (next to the filters) and tap "Shuffled" and now the restaurants will be randomized. The setting should save, so you should not have to choose it every time. Thank you for the great suggestion!
Thank you for the review. This is an excellent idea and I will absolutely work on adding this functionality for the next update! Thanks again!
