Description

This game challenges you to find forks and skewers in chess. It's not a chess playing game but rather a drill to help you recognize common chess tactics quickly. Use it everyday to become a stronger chess player.

Now you can challenge the square you think should be correct by clicking on them in review mode. The computer plays the opposite side.

Neat Idea, Inconsistent Win Criteria

The instructions are either in correct or the developer hasnt vetted the exercises. The game is great concept which increases familiarity with the symmetry of the positions e.g. “I can attack from above *and* below” but the full extent of the attacks are not realized.

Developer Response ,

I believe I have vetted all the answers, but you don't have to take my word for it anymore. In version 4.7 (should be in the store very soon if it isn't already) I have exposed the ai that I wrote to come up with the answers and now you can "check" any answer in the review mode . You just click on a square in review mode , either one that you answered correctly, missed or got wrong, or a square you just didn't get to clicking. It will allow you to "refute" my answers by playing either the white or black pieces!
Incidentally, the main purpose of writing this game was to try out an AI search routine I implemented. It's a minimax search algorithm to come up with the answers that is well know in computer science.

Developer restored this game

I wrote a salty review last time because it was not compatible with new devices and the timer was unrealistic. Now this game is one of my favorites to pass the time. Thank you to the Devs! Highly recommend

Developer Response ,

I have fixed the app in the newest version.

Great app!

One complaint, some moves are marked as wrong inconsistently, I.e. Moves that can be blocked by interposition of the opponents piece, but then can be taken on second move...sometimes these are flagged as good and sometimes wrong, be consistent
