Description

With BusyKid, kids and teens can now learn important money management skills through our easy-to-use app and BusyKid Visa® Prepaid Card.

Due to the lack of financial education in most schools, our app has just about everything any child (5 to 17 years old) could ever need to help build the important money skills they’ll need to be successful adults. From the palm of their hands they can make real-life money decisions with parents serving as a safety net.

Teens and kids can earn, save†, donate to charities† or spend on a personalized prepaid card. They can even use the funds to learn to invest* in real stocks. Hand-on experience is the best way for kids to learn, and with parents approving all money transactions leaving the app, it’s safer than giving them actual money.

Chores and allowance tracker:
Kids can earn an allowance by doing chores based on age and schedule. There are hundreds of chore/allowance combinations available but a parent can also add their own. In addition, the app’s chores and allowance tracker helps kids build important character traits like accountability, dependability, time management and teamwork. Enjoy our easy setup and real-time push notifications on chores and money transactions.

Teach Easy Investing:
Included in every BusyKid account! No upgrades needed! Teach your kids/teens how to invest from an early age and their potential can be limitless. Think college funds, first car, a home, and more. These valuable skills could help guide them through adulthood and create financial strength you can’t get with a bank alone. Learn to invest on our app and your assets are safe with our integrated investing platform, backed by Apex Clearing Corporation. Families can invest together, and within, just a few clicks make an investment for as little as $10 a transaction (and say goodbye to commissions).

BusyPay†:
Instead of wasting money on gift cards that could get lost, stolen or leave unused funds, use BusyPay and load money directly to a BusyKid child account. By sharing a BusyPay QR code friends and family can add money to an account for birthdays, holidays, or working for a neighbor. Even use this exclusive feature to BusyKid to send money to others using BusyKid.

Being Charitable:
BusyKid promotes a balance financial lifestyle and that includes being charitable. Donating is important for more reasons than the tax implications. Our app has more than 60 local and national charities built in to help make sharing easy.

Safety First:
We use the latest SSL encryption technology, and funds inside the app (child’s accounts) are FDIC Insured. The app and cards require individual PINs for use, and we strongly encourage all PINs be different. Parents receive alerts for any money transactions and card issues. Has all sensitive information stored by partners compliant with all Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.

Hoping it meets expectation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just downloaded the app and I can’t wait to introduce it to my two children. I think the concept is awesome. Though there are a couple features that I think may be helpful, because I found myself searching through the app to see if they were an available-I see list by “child”, “chore” and weekly chore view. I would love to have an option to view the whole month laid out like a calendar and show who has a chore in each day’s box of the calendar grid to ensure that I have given both children the opportunity to earn equally for the week and the month. Not necessarily the detailed chore, but just that child A has two today and child B has one-but tomorrow child A has one and child B has two(so it balances out) at a glance. It would also be helpful to have the weekly and monthly allowance total available per child viewable for the parents so that we can anticipate amounts for payday and see how much they could potentially earn per month individually without having to manually click each date and add up myself. (Unless I just overlooked that feature, in which case just omit 😬)Just a few shortcut ideas that I thought may help me and possibly other parents 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope to rate more accurately once we have used the app!

Well worth it/ it has helped our relationship

The cost for Busy Kids is worth it. My 9 yo son and I struggled with our relationship every day. I give him a directive and he didn’t follow through. I repeat myself multiple times a day but it didn’t get me anywhere but frustrated and annoyed. I researched the debit card apps for kids and came across Busy Kids. The price is affordable $20 for the year. It may not have all the bells and whistles compared with other apps” BUT I don’t need the extras, just the basics. It has a share/donate, spend, and save option. It automatically sends a portion of my sons earned income to the above. You can transfer all money into the spend account BUT we decided to donate to an organization. (If the organization isn’t listed, you can send a request to the team). I’ve used the app for 2 weeks now and I can tell you that it has minimized the arguments I’ve had with my son on a regular basis. I remind him: “ Remember , your paycheck is coming up. Make sure you earn that money!” The app is pretty easy to use— and I did have a question , sent an email, and the team responded the same day! So , they are definitely available for concerns.

Thank you for the tremendous feedback. We're working hard to make sure our app has everything a parent and child needs to understand money management and make life easier. It's an important topic and one that needs to be practiced. We appreciate you using the app and card, and we'll continue to fine tune and add new features several times a year.

Good overall but needs added functionality

We have used this app for a couple of weeks now and like the concept, however there are a few things I wish this app had. For example, although you can assign a chore to all of your children, such as “feed the dog”, it does not recognize from profile to profile when one of the kids has completed that task. Unless the kids all talk to each other (yeah right), the dog might get fed multiple times in the same day. It would be nice to have the ability to have one list of “group” chores for all the kids to complete, as well as the individual chores assigned to each kid. It would also be helpful to be able to assign chores without a specific date but rather a week or a month as the timeline. For example it would be good to be able to assign “vacuum the living room” with a periodicity of once a week. It should show up on the list of chores to complete for the entire week and show when someone completed it. It doesn’t matter to me what day of the week that chore gets completed, just as long as it gets done by someone once a week.

Thank you for the feedback! We're working on many changes in the chore section. It's a complicated place and since each parent parents differently, we need to be careful that new features don't take away from previous updates. Still, we want a platform that provides the greatest opportunity for a child to do what's assigned. Look for updates soon.
