Description
Visually track your spending against your budget across all of your cards.
Budget Burndown is a simple personal finance app for tracking your monthly burn rate. Visually track your expected vs. actual spending rate across multiple cards on a single chart. If you keep the lines matched up, you're staying on budget. It's a quick and intuitive way to track your spending without all of the bloat that makes other budgeting apps so frustrating to use.
Budget Burndown is part of the Finance Kit suite of personal finance apps, which also includes Transactions.
• A VISUAL SPENDING TRACKER
Automatically track your spending against your monthly budget across multiple accounts. Add transactions manually when linking cards is not supported in the region.
• HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
At-a-glance visibility into your burn rate without even opening the app.
• SAVE TRANSACTIONS
Quickly save transactions when you want to remember to split a bill or expense a purchase later.
• CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS
Create custom push notification triggers. Set alerts for when a transaction is above a certain amount or contains specified text.
• SECURE AND PRIVATE
Your information is completely safe. You'll use Plaid to link your cards. Your credentials are end-to-end encrypted and completely inaccessible to the app.
On the last day of each period, we'll renew your subscription for your Apple ID unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel by going to your account settings on the App Store.

Ratings and Reviews
No bloat budget app
Pros:
-Simple clean and iOS native looking design.
-No feature bloat. Most other apps on iOS are too confusing to use with too many options and features.
-Burndown visualization is effective for being aware of your spending and minimizing it.
-Privacy policy that respects your privacy.
Cons:
-5 account limit. I have more than 5 accounts so this stings.
-No way to direct connect to your bank/card via OFX
-No way to manually update an account with a CSV/OFX file
-No way to visualize spending over a custom time interval (like a whole year for instance)
-No way to sort the transactions for a month by transaction amount. You can only do it by date.
Suggestions:
-I wish there was a view for investing/savings too in addition to the budget view. Basically set a savings/investing goal every month and see how close you are to hitting it.
If you have less than 6 accounts to track this app is the best and simplest budget program on iOS I’ve seen.

Thanks for the in-depth review Dsxpress! We'll consider this feedback for future features.
So simple, it’s ACTUALLY useful
After trying just about every other overbuilt and needlessly complex finance app out there (aimed squarely at you Nerdwallet, Mint, Personal Cap), I tried Burndown from a friend’s recommendation and FINALLY a finance app that actually does what I need it to: simply monitor and categorize spending on ‘that one credit card you use’ for everything.
EASY TO TELL IF YOU CAN: It’s unique graph based interface is so visually intuitive and allows you to easily tell if buying that round of 8 margaritas is a good idea, even if you’re seeing double from the last round. Over your line? Get the boss to buy it. Under the line?Still get the boss to buy it, but smile feeling good you’re saving money.
MITIGATE ‘VENMO INFLATION’: Paying for a 6 person dinner where friends suddenly get T-Rex arms, can’t reach their wallets and will ‘Venmo you later’? A misrepresented accounting error of death to your card that will blow other app’s monthly budget reporting hopelessly into oblivion with no chance of recovery or correction. With Burndown, just tap charge > edit charge > back on track!
If you’ve been frustrated with the other all-in-one solutions out there and want an app that will actually make a positive difference in your spending habits, try Burndown. So simple it’s actually useful!

We've all been there 😂 Thank you for the review!
Almost there...
It’s a great and simple app and makes it easy to see that snapshot view and make you think before making that next purchase. Two things I found would be helpful. Adding multiple cards from the same bank would be nice instead of having to login and add it one by one, not sure if it’s because of Plaid. The other one it would be nice to see the Burndown graph by transaction type like dining, entertainment, etc.

Thanks for the feedback! I know you’ve already linked your cards, but your first idea will actually be in the next update 🙂
Edit: Updated! Now you only have to sign in once to link multiple cards from the same bank. Thanks again for the suggestion! Hope we’ve earned that last star 😉
