Bidding Issues
The play is pretty good, but the bidding is occasionally absurd. Not so much problems following conventions, just obviously stupid bids sometimes. The most frequent is my AI partner entering the bidding late and bidding a major that the opponent opened with! Not much fun playing two spades when opponent to my right has 5 over my partner’s five.
Review of new version
Prior iteration was VASTLY better than this new “Casualino” version. An enormous step backward. You can’t go back to see the original hand after the hand has been played out. The only way to learn is to compare scores and then go back and see why your score fell short. Other aspects of this version also don’t measure up to the prior version. You butchered a fabulous game, one that outshines all other single player duplicate bridge games.
Problems with this and the prior version: The computer doesn’t get that overcalls can be made with fewer points. The computer doesn’t understand lead-directing doubles. The computer seems reluctant to lead a suit that partner bid when choosing opening leads.

Bring Back the Old Bridge Baron Software
This new version of Bridge Baron was clearly not written by a bridge player. The dummy is not revealed after the opening lead. It is only shown after the first trick is played. The bidding by your partner is not accurate and defenders often throw off winning cards that they shouldn’t. And what is up with the sound effects? Sounds like cards shuffling every time a trick is completed. The old software also let you review the hand trick by trick. This does not allow that. I will be searching for other options to play on my phone. Not a good product.
