Ratings and Reviews
Ol’ Reliable
This has been the longest game I’ve had in my phone. I usually delete others due to the abundance of ads (I absolutely understand sitting through ads as a trade off for a free game, but some more recent games I’ve played have been ridiculous, having more ads than playing time). The only ads I get can be skipped after five seconds, and they don’t pop up during the actual games- just before or after.
There are several different types of games within this app to choose from, and difficulty levels can be chosen for each one.
Another thing I like(d) is that there were no deceptive videos to lure me to download this, as there were with games like “Fishdom” or the “Scapes” series.
I hope this app sticks around for a while, because I love it!
Programming Needs to Follow Descriptions
Pattern matching. Seems simple. In programming, though, I expect it's quite complicated. The definition in game is a bit ambiguous, but the programming does not match the definition. The definition does not specify that ALL attributes must be the same or different, so clearly at least one set of attributes must be different in order to form a set. But what if 3 attributes are different? The programming doesn't recognize this. I'll give an example from level 4. Colors are magenta, teal, and green. Patterns are striped, blank, and filled. Shapes are triangle, square, and circle. Only the number is the same for each in the set: two. But the programming doesn't recognize this set, even though it fits the definition.
By the way, the definition implies that it is possible to match cards that are completely identical in every way (all four attributes match) but clearly the game doesn't provide such opportunities. So perhaps the definition should be revised to clarify how the programming actually handles sets internally.
Best one site option
I’ve enjoyed brain yoga for quite a few years now. I don’t have to be worried about getting bored as there is a good variety of games and you can increase the difficulty of each game as well. I feel like it helps keep my mind sharper as a senior and makes me feel like I haven’t lost all my gray matter. It’s an awesome way to learn how to play on line games as you can progress as you see fit, and it offers you the opportunity to work on skills you think may be lacking. I reccomend to any one who finds “mind” games challenging as it’s not directed at any particular age group. Even my grandson and I like to challenge each other to see what games we do best at and which is a greater challenge.
