Ratings and Reviews
Okay
The good: fairly easy to navigate, shows trends, chat function with coach and community, good repository of resources
The bad: tech support is slow to respond, setup is difficult to navigate without a coach’s help, has issues syncing with other apps (including Apple Health, which should be standard for syncing ALL wellness apps), insights show weight loss trends in % only (would like to see cumulative pounds lost), food logs doesn’t always save and it won’t let you add general food description after the fact, has a mood tracker for the day but not one to track how hungry/full you are with each meal (crucial for true intuitive/mindful eating).
I’ve tried 6 or 7 food log /wellness tracking apps before and this one is mediocre. Like all the rest, it has good points and bad - so far, I’ve not found a great one. Bonus: Betr is free through my health insurance.
Quite frustrating
I have the app solely because it comes with my Personal Training at the gym and I really don’t enjoy this app. It is complicated to use and frankly quite frustrating. I am constantly logged out and I have to go through the process of logging back in just to put in my meals, workouts, etc. In addition, I will use the app after eating out or the meals that I make at home and I can only put in 1 or 2 of the ingredients because every other ingredient in my meal does not exist in the app. This app is better used as a recipe app and even then the recipes are not ones that I enjoy very much. On top of that the location of the company I believe is based in EDT/EST and I have had several confusions now because my time is PDT/PST. I think it would honestly be easier to get an agenda or notebook and carry that around to write my progress and such. The coaches and nutritionist have so many clients that the phone calls feel rushed and I don’t feel comfortable talking with someone who is worried about the next appointment and wants to hang up right away. I already have enough anxiety I don’t want to feel pressured to talk quickly. I had a phone call scheduled today and it never came and I am glad because I told myself if something went wrong I would simply stop using the app. I suggest getting an actual nutritionist if you can afford it and a psychologist as well if you can. Thank you for the opportunity, but I will stick to the a notebook and pen.
5 star program supplemented by an intuitive app
This program is a game changer. I have acquired a wealth of knowledge on my body that I never knew before, and I have completely changed my eating habits for the better because the protocols work. This knowledge I will take with me for the rest of my life and will always live this lifestyle. I feel amazing inside and out while keeping weight off consistently by eating real whole amazing foods and hydrating. The meals are so awesome and flavorful and I purchase them if I don’t feel like prepping or following recipes (which are all amazing!). To support all of this, the app is intuitive and makes it real easy to track my progress, all while communicating seamlessly with my coach. No calorie counting or points. I’m able to access all the resources, recipes, meal plans, the community and chat support all in one place. 5 stars for both the program and app experience, well done!
