Description
The Berk's County Sheriff’s Office moblle application is an interactive app which will help improve our communication with Berks County citizens. Information will include, but not be limited to contact information, news alerts, emergency alerts, local weather, event calendar, inmate search, firearms licensing, Sheriff Sales and Most Wanted. Citizens may submit a crime tip directly through the app, as well as see and share social media posts. By empowering people through technology, the Berks County Sheriff’s Office will be able to better protect our county.
This App is not meant to be used to report emergency situations. If you have an emergency please call 911.

Missed opportunity.
This could be a very useful tool for educating people on almost anything positive that sheriffs office wants to put out. However, whoever is in charge of the notifications, chose to use it for COVID information. This just completely discourages people from leaving the notifications on or having the app entirely. Just like when our state government chose to use the Amber alert system for COVID alerts. What a missed opportunity for this app to be something very helpful to our community and the officers that protect it.
