Aquanta hot water tank electricity monitor

Great product! With the price of electricity going up I decided to give the Aquanta a try as I wanted to see my household usage. The hardware is easy to install but if you are not comfortable with electric then you will want to get an electrician to do that installation. As for the app, it is easy to set up an use. I do like the features (although somewhat limited for a granular level usage breakdown) and the hot water tank seems to be more efficient. In summary: I like it!

Water never heats up now

Since we had this installed, our water never gets hot. No matter how we try, it never goes above 80. I really am not liking a Luke warm bath or Luke warm water to hand wash our dishes. We don’t have a dishwasher or shower, just a tub and a sink. We wash our clothes with cold water only. Really not impressed at all. Have it set to heat the water to 120 but we get excited if it gets to 84 no matter if we try by temp setting, intelligence, manual or anything. Really disappointed from what we were told it would be. I miss my hot baths to try and soak my back from all the pain I suffer from with my spinal degeneration, but I haven’t been able to do that in months since this was put on…. I really don’t recommend it. Was hoping it would be helpful, but it really isn’t.

We're sorry your use Aquanta has impacted your comfort. Please reach out to us via our support channel so that we might help you troubleshoot. Aquanta controls should not suppress tank heating that much, and we're sure an adjustment to the control strategy used will help out here.

Now, not so good

The System worked ok for the first year we’ve had it. Difficult to program and some times has a mind of its own. I used it mainly as an on/off remote switch but it is not simple.
The first time I set up the system, it was well laid out, step by step, instructions with no issues. A year later we had to change out router password and as expected, the system dropped off line. However, all of their contingencies with step by step instruction fail to get the system back online. I am writing to tec services to see if they can be of any help.
