Love the app but have a few suggestions

I love this app so far but have some suggestions.

1. The ability to inspect frame by frame instead of counting all honey stores etc. For example: frame 1 empty, frame 2 capped honey, frame 3 has capped brood with bee bread and capped honey on edges.

2. The ability to change inspection time and date. I was having some challenges with the voice activated system and I wound up taking notes and then dictating the inspection later. I would like to be able to modify the date and time of inspection.

3. The ability to print a PDF of an entire yard with detailed hive inspection notes for outyard clients. So the ability to print by hive or apiary. Also the ability to correct spelling in that document.

4. The ability to set up a custom hive inspection template.

5. A menu for adding supers, requeening, preventative treatments or other treatments.

I’m new to using this so some of that may be there and I just haven’t found it yet. It’s just a little clunky during an inspection because of how it’s set up.

10/17/2024 - Concerning #3, you can now print a PDF of the entire bee yard with all hive inspection notes.

Concerning #4, you can now easily create your own custom inspection checklists

We have anticipated beekeepers would want to customize the inspection flow to better suit their needs and have made the app easy to customize by modifying the voice scripts. 

A frame by frame inspection is definitely doable and we think this type of inspection would benefit many beekeepers so we will be adding it as a separate inspection type as soon as possible. If you would like get notified when its released please email us at support@beekeepervoice.com

You already can clone any of the inspection scripts to create your own custom inspection flow as needed.

I would suggest that you may consider an expansion of the equipment area for status, maintenance and tasks.

Documenting Hives

This app has helped me become a better beekeeper. With 20 hives it was difficult keeping track of the status of each hive. But now, by speaking into the app, I can easily record all the details, with pictures , and my hands are free to do the inspection. even in a full bee suite! Wow what a difference it has made in my bee yard! I also love being able to get a quick overview of all my hives with the easy to read hive status rings.

Just got this app, have suggestion

Should not be too hard to add RFID identification and tagging to equipment. Could use a scan of the tag to start an inspection. I am going to be using the app this weekend and will come back and edit this review

Hey thanks for the review. Version 3.9 now has NFC Tag and QRCode scan to start inspection. You can also setup a custom script for feeding, treatments etc. A simple scan will then log the task.

Very useful

I’ve been wondering if anyone would ever develop something like this. Pro or hobbyist this app has a place and so easy to get started and actually fun to use.

Stuck at welcome screen

I’m thankful I didn’t subscribe. App got stuck at welcome screen. Text doesn’t fit on screen, can’t tell how to move past. Quit immediately.

Thanks for the feedback. After some research we found a problem with the screen sizes on the lower resolution SE models where the button is off the screen. A fix has been released in version 2.9.
