5e Companion App 4+

Good, could be great

The app is great for getting ideas out and organized, and I’ve used it to help teach new players how to get comfortable with a character sheet and playing d&d in general. However there’s just one bug I’ve been running into. One of my players wants to play the Unearthed arcana Prismari Sorcerer, but when she finished her character sheet and checked her information tab it set her character to a Divine Soul Sorcerer? It’s a bit frustrating because her abilities aren’t there for her to look at quickly and she has to go find them in the classes tab So I tried this for her and when you put in your level, and then select class/race etc it just removes your level so you have to put it in again, and the cycle repeats, but good to know it’s getting fixed thank you :) I’m sure there’s a good reason but this is still an issue. I’d also like to say another player and I have run into a different problem where sharing the link to a character sheet(when the app is open or closed) will cause the app to crash. Not sure this helps but the players Barbarian sheet works, but his fighter and Monk/Artificer don’t. Would love to see this fixed but there’s no hurry I’m sure you’re very busy :) Much love, a DM.

Hi Arxhangxl! I'm sorry about this! I'll be fixing this issue soon. If your player can make their character again (or edit their current one) the choice should stick as long as she makes sure to select the level first and everything else after. This is because of a bug that I'll be fixing in the next update

Pretty darn good! Just some inconveniences.

I want to start by saying this app is fantastic!
It has pretty much I all I need, the app just has some glitches. Such as, whenever I finish a character and give them proficiencies in a ability (such as insight or stealth) from a background and I click on the background to look at what proficiencies it gives me it’ll take them away and I have to give myself the proficiency bonus again. Also every time I level up it’ll go down the list of what new abilities I get which is good, but it goes down by level. So say I’m a level 10 fighter, it’ll show what new feat I get and whatnot but then it’ll also tell me everything I already know I have again like extra attack, superiority die, etc. Other than that I wish there was some more items in the armor category like all the magical armor. And for some reason the app says a Maul does 1d6 damage when it actually does 2d6 same with the greatsword. If you ever update the app again and fix all this I’ll be very grateful! Keep up the great work because your app is amazing and the best character sheet app out there because I can basically do whatever I want with it and it helps a lot!

Great app, not without flaws

I vastly prefer this app to dndbeyond because it includes so much content, is very customizable, and most importantly, is absolutely free if you can't/won't pay. BUT, that being said, it's not perfect. The ads can be quite obnoxious, seeing as you have to watch a 30 second add to level up a character 1 level, and you can only level them up one at a time. It also doesn't include everything, although it includes almost everything. I noticed it is missing the Grung race, but that's the most glaring missing information. I also would love to see ways to fully costomize the characters even more, like homebrew classes, subclasses, races, backgrounds. Ways to manually edit the bonuses to specific skills, etc. All together, an amazing app for someone unwilling or unable to shell out hundreds of dollars for dnd beyond.
