Each issue addresses some of the most passionate political and cultural controversies of the day and reviews the most engrossing new books and the ideas that illuminate them.
 The print edition of The New York Review of Books, included in the app, is published 20 times a year. The app also includes all of our online-only content. Articles can be bookmarked for later reading, and the app includes a link to browse our shop, The Reader’s Catalog.

Current print and online-only subscribers receive full access to the app through existing website login credentials (email and password). The app may also be purchased directly through the app store. Purchases made through the app store do not include access to The Review’s website and complete archive.

Your subscription will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your iTunes account will automatically be charged at the same price for renewal, as stated above, within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
 Current subscriptions may not be cancelled during the active subscription period, but you can manage your subscription and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Simple but effective

After installing the app and taking a premium subscription, it takes a couple of days before your account is activated.
The service desk doesn't exist or is non responsive.
Once activated, it is a basic 'download & read'. Simple but effective.

Feels like being robbed...

Dear NYRoB,

It appears to me that you stole all the issues that I bought this year. I have no subscription, no account and Imguess that is the reason why the issues that I bought and downloaded on my iPad between March and August 2019 are inaccessible since you updated your app, giving it a great make-over. Restore purchases does not work for me... You will probably say that I only bought access and that you can withdraw access, because I am not a regular subscriber, but just a passer-by, who happened to buy an issue every now and then. O.K. But still it feels like I have been robbed of some very interesting publications that I had not yet finished reading and that I paid for... in real Euro’s!

Denk niet dat je hier de NYRB mee kunt lezen als je een digitaal abonnement hebt.

Ik sloot een digitaal abonnement af om de New York Review off line op mijn iPad te kunnen lezen. Helaas, is dat een groot deel van de tijd onmogelijk geweest. Ongeveer een jaar geleden heeft het inlogmechanisme een paar maanden niet gewerkt en sinds een maand of 4 werkt het weer niet. Twee maanden geleden werden we met 200 mails gebombardeerd waarin vol trots gemeld werd dat het mechanisme gerepareerd zou zijn. Helaas werden die mails per ongeluk verstuurd. Het inlogmechanisme werkt nog steeds niet. De klantenservice liet mij in antwoord op een klacht weten dat de app helaas niet meer toegankelijk is voor digitale abonnees. Ik heb m'n abonnnement opgezegd en om een refund gevraagd, maar die niet gekregen omdat de review al die tijd wel online beschikbaar geweest zou zijn.
