Alcohol and volume conversions as a function of temperature follow the International Legal Metrology Recommendation (OIML) R22 of 1975.

Calculations of volume in a barrel are based on the mathematical model used in the Triple Census Book of Mr PRUVOST-LE-GUAY.
Calculations for raising or reducing the alcohol level take into account the contraction factor inherent in hydroalcoholic mixtures.
