本作『真ッ赤の太陽 / Crimsooon Sun』は「推理小説を読む程度の集中力でプレイできる推理アドベンチャーゲーム」というコンセプトの推理小説アドベンチャーです。
舞台は東北地方の地方都市、白瀬市。失踪していた女子大生、藤丸操が半年近い歳月を経て戻ることから始まります。彼女は失踪中のことは何も語りませんでしたが、大学祭の展示の動画に映し出されたのは車椅子に乗せられバージンロードを歩ませられる藤丸操と、それを押す謎の〈顔のない男〉、そして窓に映る二重太陽でした。
本作は推理「小説」アドベンチャーです。推理小説を読むときは必ずしも作中の探偵のように完全な推理はせずに、
「この発言はなんか嘘っぽい」
「こいつはなんか怪しい」
「ここの描写はトリックに関連ありそう」
程度の曖昧な推理しかしない場合があり、選択肢を正しく選ぶようなシステムとは噛み合わない可能性がありえます。
本作では『御神楽少女探偵団』（ヒューマン）のトリガーシステムをインスパイアしたうえで、余分な選択肢・分岐はすべてカットし、気になったところでトリガーを引いて得た情報の弾丸26発を以って推理だけを行うシステムとなっています。
