Excellent quality and features ..one thing missing
I have 2 cameras and have bought 2 for friends as presents and they have gone ahead and bought additional cameras. One of the main benefits is the sad card recording and review feature meaning no additional cloud costs once purchased. The cloud functionality is there for those that need it. Video quality is excellent, motion tracking works well and the ability to disable the infra red leds means I can set it up inside the house looking through the window with no glare. A handy tip if using it as a security camera is to buy an additional infra red flood light, invisible light at night, if using it the way I do.
Only one feature is missing for me though that would make this system perfect, the ability to blank areas where unwanted motion happens such as traffic, trees or bushes blowing in the wind as this would greatly enhance the alert feature. If this were added as an app option these cameras would be 100% in my book.
It works but needs new features
I have 3 WiFi cameras. This one and the Tapo ones. The Tapo ones are by far better than the Yi. The reason I say this is because I set mine up as a CCTV inside the window looking out. On a night there is no switch to force the Yi camera NOT to go into night mode (infrared mode), and as a result the image is washed out with the infrared hitting off the inside of the window. We have sufficient street lighting outside, so I don’t need infrared. But there’s no way of turning it off like you can do with the Tapo.
Also, the Mibao camera can’t be viewed over 4G with this app, it just sticks at 30%.
You really need to build this into your app. Then it would be perfect.
Dissatisfied pensioner
I bought 2 of these cameras a few years back and they worked perfectly about a year ago they started hounding me to buy the cloud even though I did not need it since then I have been hounded to buy the cloud that i do t want and did not need.
In the last 2 days I have had 8 emails asking me to buy the cloud i tried to contact them again but it failed. I can not get into my cameras at all to day all I get is buy cloud. I tried to delete the app and reinstall the app when I went onto the app it said this is for premium cloud services. I am a disabled pensioner who needs the cameras. I have now bought 2 new camera’s from a different manufacturer and they do not need a cloud service to use then, it is an option but they suggest just use a SD card as it is cheaper. It is also able to connect to your choice of cloud not there own. These cameras have now been removed and be thrown away. They are no good to me.
