Awful first experience for foreigners
1. Cannot find app in the store by typing GSM Vietnam
2. Phone format +840…. Is not working on the login screen
3. By default in Vietnamese, however English is supported, but you need to login and find where it is in Vietnamese. Apps should read it from the phone operating system and use default language.
4. The most important part. No bank cards are working. I have tried Mastercard from the UK and Visa from the local bank in Vietnam and none of them work, so cannot use service in the end and had to write this feedback for the decisions makers to address at least the happy path problems usual user will experience.
Getting slowly worse
The GPS for the app is unreliable, slow to update and at times just completely wrong, which is a frustration for drivers and customers. Drivers seem to be getting more aggressive on the roads, less polite, and more pushy to get the customers to cancel drives they don't want to take.
Also, the automatic "opt in" on insurance, while only 2k VND is cheeky and bad practice.
All this is a shame, because when it works it is a nice system and the cars are generally cleaner and quieter than Grab. Also the Xanh now system is a good one that allows hailing like a traditional taxi.
