Ratings and Reviews
Nice but not...
So I want to check up on family members who are away in Sardinia, I found it manually... but there were no results for it when I searched for it through the search tool. Huh? So not 4* or 5*.
Good if you want a very general picture, otherwise poor; terrible interface
There's some good information here if you want a general picture of each country. Enough to warrant the £2 price tag, probably. But specifics are poor - for example the UK is the third largest economy in Europe, apparently, after Germany and France. No, it isn't. Whether you take the IMF, World Bank or United Nations measures, the UK is more than 10% larger than France in 2016 and 2015. The bizarre thing is that when you look at the app's own figures for GDP in those two years, UK is bigger than France. What?
Also, the interface is really poor. You can search for a country (actually a nation state - you can't search for "England" for example) and that's it. No Browse. There's a map view but it's very basic and you can't interact with it.
Overall the app is poor - I'm sure I'll refer to it from time to time when I'm going somewhere new on holiday and it'll give me some basic facts. But I trust the specifics less than I trust Wikipedia...so...y'know...
UK.
In the UK, there are 4 countries. It would be nice if they were acknowledged as they all have separate parliaments and Scotland is vying for independence.
Also, UK information is very out of date. Still showing 2001 census. There was one in 2011. For 2014 edition, it's not very 2014.
Apart from that, fascinating amount of information.
